Hmmm...it says on their website stencyl was created in 2008, though that is just a pile of crap to make it look like their quickly developing it right?
Yes, whatever you say Nouman
Not at all. I've been with Stencyl's testing program since a little before they scrapped the old and started again in January. No, they didn't really start in 2008, but they did restart in 2008. I'm not even sure when they did start for the first time, or if Jon's old SMW level maker thing counted as the beginning, but I do know that what they used to have is all gone in favor of what they have now.
Also, yeah, Jon is developing Stencyl extremely fast. If only you knew his day to day schedule... it's scary.
Good lord they restarted? o_O WHY?

To have the motto "FOUR MORE YEARS!"

Stencyl was registered on 26-Nov-2006
2 years to pretend to create something is apparently really fast.
Because this version is better than the old one. Don't worry, when you're using Stencyl yourself, you'll be thanking God that they restarted.
Anyways, they were never pretending to make Stencyl. It's always been real.
Rmxp is right. They started coding Stencyl in 2008, and they plan to release this year. I don't see what the big deal is.
The big deal is that they didn't start in 2008. They're just "starting over" so people won't say "Why has it taken them 2 years+ to make this piece of crap?"

they started coding in 2008?
so they planned from 2006 to 2008 right? but wait...it says it was founded in 2008.
Jon started coding the program they plan on releasing in 2008, in January. If you want the official answer, ask on the official Stencyl forums.
The company itself came to be in 2008. I remember having to give my electronic signature on this contract thing.
Yes, the company started up along with the current version of Stencyl. From 2006, I suppose it was, to 2008, an old version of Stencyl was being programmed. That version has been replaced by a better one, which has only been being programmed since January. Of this year.

k, thanks for clearing this up. if they ditch the 'current' version and make a new one...that would be lol
That would be lol. Really, I don't think they should have announced they restarted. That's just asking for flack, that kind of information should be kept in house.
oh lol this just gets better.
Stencyl is turning out to be like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster.
I agree with Lev lol
Restarting something that has built up heaps of hype is... wrong.

On the overall topic of this post:
*ahem*
"I told you so."
Ah, so is that why you were asking me...? XD

No, I just wanted you to do it. :3
...anyone can run a taskbar bar with any icon and or title. gonna need more proof. i dunno screenshot the program files directory or something
As I've said before. This is a fucking pointless argument. It's like you're arguing for the sake of arguing, and nobody's ever going to win it.

And there's more evidence on the side of Stencyl's existence than there is against it. Lack of evidence isn't evidence.
And this (http://forums.stencyl.com/attachment.php?aid=1739) and this (http://forums.stencyl.com/attachment.php?aid=1740) are the closest things to Stencyl's directory that I can find. :V
Time will tell, time will tell.
Either way, it's going to be disappointing. I'll probably play with it for 5 minutes and then forget that it ever existed.

How can you say something's disappointing when you haven't even tried it?

Stencyl is great.
Then again, I'm only a tester, right? I'm supposed to be biased.

Maybe you didn't say "great", but you did say
<Irockman1> there is proof that stencyl is the best program ever
It's going to be disappointing because people have been talking it up for so long.
One of the many reasons why Jon hasn't released Stencyl.

I also said that Stencyl doesn't exist. I was kidding when I said both of those things, obviously.
You were being quite serious as I recall.
No, I was joking.
Stupid sausages.
k... just dont expect me to be waiting for it. KEEP US POSTED IROCK :D
