Title: Suggestion: Ignore User Feature
Post by: Moss. on August 01, 2008, 01:22:36 AM
Other forums have this feature, where you can put a certain user on your "ignore list," thus obscuring all said user's posts from being viewed by your account. Instead of seeing what they posted, it usually says "this member is on your ignore list. click this underlined link to view the post" or something like that.

I think this would be a fantastic feature to have with users like klondike plaguing the forum. This way, we won't have to ban him (in case he technically hasn't done anything "wrong"), but we also won't have to see his retarded posts either.

*pretends to be unbiased and non-partisan towards kit's statement*

But yes. I second this!

As mods, I'm not sure if this is a feature that it would be prudent to use :P

So I'm indifferent to the proposition.

sounds like a good feature :)

however I think if I blocked someone, I'd still click the 'view their post' xD

Modern Algebra, as a mod, you should still be able to appreciate this feature as it will reduce the amount of complaining by non-moderator members about annoying members.

But since you're indifferent, whatever, it hardly matters I guess.

edit: I wasn't petitioning this feature so much for myself as I was for other non-moderator members, obviously.

edit 2: However, I'll also point out that one mod ignoring a member wouldn't effect things too much, seeing as how we have like 20 moderators on this forum.

It's coming in SMF version 2, which we'll eventually upgrade to when it finally comes out.
