So it is raining really hard right now. And it is only getting worse. A chunk of hail punched a hole in a gutter out front.

First thing : Raise all your valuable things on a safe height.
If water gets in (dunno if thats possible there), it's going to be horrible.
From my experience, (at least for tropical storms) heavy rain and thunderstorm can hit a tree near you and water can get in up to your knee (both are from experience, it was horrid ;9)
Your stuff can get horribly wet, especially books (further experience ) and the water can get murky and something could jump out of the water, like leeches and crabs (I live near the coastline) ;9
Dunno about tornadoes, hope you'll be okay. ;8

Ive been through a few but none have actually hit my street and I have only actually seen one of them. *Was at Walgreens and the tornado touched down at the end of the street it was on*

Slowest rainstorm ever
It took 12 hours for it to move from Amarillo to Dallas and by the time it got here it was a slight drizzle.
