OMG 2 new topics in a row.
Since so many people here think they know what it takes to run a nation and think that they can do so well at it, this ought to be fun. Of course, it's just a simulation, but still.
Now, the whole point of this little game is to run your own country (as the thread title implies ) and see how you can handle it.
As time goes on, all kinds of issues will be thrown your way. Already having done this myself, I had to make choices regarding voting policy, free speech, euthanasia, environmental issues, and more to come. You can even apply for membership to the UN if you're so inclined.
Not only do you have to worry about yourself, but also keeping tabs on other nations who may not have your best interests in mind. You'll get invitations (via telegrams through the site) to join other countries, or work with them. Not all will be on your side of the spectrum as well.
The site is called www.nationstates.net. What you do is go on over, and decide you want to participate. You'll answer a few questions, and this will help determine what kind of nation you will have. It should be interesting to see what kind of governments fellow board members would be in control of.
Now one thing anyone who participates, or just comments on this stuff has to know is...
This isn't a topic to speak of current world politics! That's the rule!
You discuss the politics of your nation, and others that are participating. Since all this is just a fun thing to try, there'll be no fighting about how things really are. Take any of that nonsense to Intelligent Debate.

They have a huge thread on homosexuality in their forums, and out of the first page only one person said they were "against" it. And the only person who acted immature was a guy who read half of the post of the topic starter who was stating the different points of views different people take, and was like "Fuck you." and then later "I'm gay." Their forums seem to be much more mature than ours o_o
thats what makes are forum special we dont try to act mature wll some of us do but we have fun not like other forums.

Dude that's the reason I like this site that we don't act like uptight ass holes(well maybe we are ass holes at times...)

Personally I'd like it if some of you acted kinda at least a little more mature sometimes. I mean, we all know Mental is Bisexual and could be considered Emo, but like still even now almost every thread he posts in is followed up by Blizzard or FuMannChu "well that's because your emo" "GO CUT URSELF THEN"
Eh, sure it's funny at the start but not really after the 50th time. It just makes you look childish =\
