Hey all, first post! Woot!
Well, I'm not to RPG Maker...so I gots me some questions! Firstly, how do you start out the game with titles and stuff? You know, like, you click "New Game" and it starts out on a black screen with some music, and credits roll by...and then it fades into the game. Also, is it possible to make it play pre-rendered movies?
Next question...tilesets! How do I import new tilesets? And one thing that really bugs me is how do I use tilesets from different categories? Like, I have my map set to the desert type, so it only shows tilesets. How do I make it so I can use tilesets from other categories too?
That's all, thanks for the time!

Movies are unplayable, but the credits could possibly be made by fading pictures in and out and changing them before it fades back in.
As for tilesets, you can only have one per map. You can do some work and combine all the tilesets to only ever have to use one, but it takes a while to accomplish.
Hope this helps!
Ah, this is...annoying, lol. Can you play movies with RPG Maker VX? What about the tilesets issue? BTW, how do I modify the tilesets like you said?
You combine tilesets in a editor like Photoshop or MS Paint.
Also only RPG Maker 2003 can play movie files.
Edit: Also VX only has one tileset for everything.
Is 2003 better than XP? How do I combine tilesets in Photoshop? That is, how do I open them so I can combine them?
You should really have some general knowlage about this. Open up the tilesets in photoshop and increase the blank space on the tileset downward until you have enough space to fit another tileset on it.
That's not what I meant. I know perfectly well how to use Photoshop, been doing it for years. What I meant was how do I get the tilesets that come with RPG Maker into Photoshop? But never mind, I figured out you have to export them from RPG Maker.
;o; Glad I could help, sort of.
