I'm wanting to make a game, but I'm wanting to use as little of the graphics that come with RMXP as possible. How much would a talented spriter charge for the tileset(s) for an entire game? Any idea? Hopefully money isn't going to be an issue for me soon and I'll be able to pay people to work on the project I have stirring in my head.
This is just a shot in the dark as no-one has, to my knowledge, ever asked that question here before. I'm going to "guess" around 15-25 dollars per tileset (if made entirely from scratch) depending on who you find and how detailed you want the tilesets to be.
I ain't too smart. :S
Like I said, it's only a guess so if I'm wrong, don't quote me on it. :)
Haha, well, I'm counting on my income to be raised here soon... enough to be able to pay someone good money to make the graphics I want. :-p If it does, I'll be hunting a pixel artist ;) And it won't be just $15-$25 per tileset, either. ;)
I'd say an hourly rate of 15-25 would be fair, but not 15-25 for the whole tileset. If you're not THAT rich, which is understandable, Maybe 7-10 per hour. You'd just have to have the tileset artist keep track of the time they work on the tileset. Giving a tileset artist something like 25 dollars for a whole sheet is really like paying them a dollar per hour, or sometimes even less depending on how long they take. Of course, make sure you get what you pay for.
For very good pixel artists, it could be $50+ per hour.
go to hbgames.org, I believe they are all about money.
hey, thelivingphoenix
I can help you any way I can. I like to help and could use the money to do it. I don't have a real job, because nobody in real life in my home town is not hiring till july or june. But I can help...... ???

Sorry, I couldnt resist!
I looked this up with a company in China or Korea to make a professional game. They wanted $5,000 to do an entire game's worth of graphics.
Yowch. way too much money for my pockets. On average, I have approximately $2.34 in my bank account. I have more now though because I'm working.
Only 5 000 buck =o
That is very cheap
Zeriab...you should know better.
