I dunno if this is allowed, but I'll try so anyway. Does anyone know a good game story? I thought and thought and thought, but I can't come up with anything original. It's always medieval war, or kids end up in another place through magic portal, or other cliché crap.
I just need a baseline to get started with. It has to feature a nice youngster who somehow gets problems that affect him directly and thus need to be solved.
Really, my head is empty. If anyone could help me out...
How about this:
"a kid that his got parents killed and he must lived and survived by himself, to prove his parents murder by travelling around the world "
hmm well the problem with this is, most people want to keep any ideas they have for themself. so you might have some trouble with getting any help on this one. however i suggest you play a few of the older final fantasy games and look to them for inspiration and a good source to learn how to make a good yet simple RPG.

The idea I'm using is comedic based. So if you want to use my idea you can.
A boy appears inside of a room (while sleeping). He exits the room after discovering the door, into a world unknown filled with (Whatever you want). In the end it's all a dream.
Thats the gist.

I know i know.. But the dream idea hasn't been murdered yet. Its not a magic portal, its a dream.
I believe that even if its a medieval war or kids ending up somewhere because they ate the wrong mushrooms cliche stuff, you can come up with original ideas based off those things...
is like trying to ummm compare the manga Berserk with Lord of the rings, I mean both medieval crap but almost completely different from eachother (story wise not setting wise)
OR comparing Magic knight Rayearth with Kingdom Hearts, both fall in the "magic portal" setting and shit.... BUT the are both so cool you cant get enought of them... (even considering how half assed those 3 girls in Rayearth ended up in the Zephira or whatever the wolrd is called)
