Title: Metal Gear Solid & Theories
Post by: The.Muffin.King on April 12, 2008, 06:43:32 PM
Call me crazy, but I don't think this was a fluke.

Also after watching each trailer 8000 times, I've come to a conclusion that there are five main bosses which are each based off an emotion. The dog one seems to be based off of sadness, while the doctor octupus one seems to be based off laughter. The flying one seems to have some major rage issues. Although the puppet one seems to be quiet and just creepy. Although as far as names go, i doubt they'll name them the rage, or the sadness because that is too similar to the bosses in metal gear solid 3.

I am also assuming that these people are part of/ or are the PMC.

But one thing i still can't figure out is, who are the patriots. In mgs3 they referred to them as the la-li-lu-ley-low.

So what are your theories and opinions.

Wow, I noticed the boss fight psychology in the first game ?_?

You're years late, buddy.

It helps if you play the games in chornological order. With the patriots I mean.

They're all dead. Duh.

But they're also alive.

Zombies.

When was Big Boss invited to join? Or did I miss that on PO?
I never got to beat it because it's on a handheld piece of crap.

Why can't they just port it to the PS2 like they did with Silent Hill Origins..
I'll be a good boy for Christmas...

Yeah I got disappointed with it a bit. Like you just need to go to the X, even if the enemy spots you.

Isn't that the general idea of most MGS missions?

One big theory I hold about MGS, specifically the last installment, is how it's going to play.  It doesn't seem like Liquid and Solid can't die without the other doing so.  In that respect, and considering Raiden is also in the game, I think that you'll need to switch between Raiden and Solid Snake to progress through the game, and the final battle will be Raiden having to kill Snake, so Liquid can stay dead as well.

I'm probably dead wrong, but it would be awesome to see.

Liquid Snake would have died if Ocelot had not let him infuse into him :x

Yeah but in the other MGS game, you can enter a place if your not spotted, in PO you can still go to the X even if the enemy is following you.

That's a good theory, but your overlooking some things. Like Snake putting a gun barrel in his mouth.
It's not that one can live without the other, because on the very first Liquid was perceived as dead after the final battle. And from what I gather, the reason Old Snake is going to kill himself is to wipe Big Boss's genes out.

I think they'll pull something similer to Metal Gear Solid 2. Where you play Snake at first, then another character.
In several videos Solid Snake is about to commit suicide , or so we're lead on to believe.
After that footage in one trailer, it shows a young version of Solid Snake, rather, a younger version of Big Boss.
And a bird shits on him.

Maybe you play him through the second half of the game?

But, I myself can shoot down that theory. If Liquid Snake is the main objective, then that wouldn't be possible because you'd beat the game.

However, I can counter that arguement by bringing up the patriots and their bodyguards. It's a three-way fight in the game. So maybe Old Snake takes on Liquid, and this young big boss looking Snakes takes on the Patriots. Just an idea though. Please, if someone can find a way to shoot it down, go ahead.
I'm uncertain about Raidens part though.
