Title: Display Hero Name
Post by: Blackhero12 on March 16, 2008, 12:28:53 PM
Hello everybody,

I'm still a little RPG-making noob and I was wondering how you can display a hero name, because at the beginning of the game, you can change the name of your hero, but the question is: how can I display this name later in the game.
I went searching on Google and found this over and over:
QuoteEnter one of the following codes in the "Message" event command during a game (not in the message editor) to activate the corresponding function. To see how they appear when in-game, press [F2] to preview the message.

Display a hero's name : n[<hero name>]
(...)
I tried this, but it doesn't work.
I used the "Show Text"-button and typed: Is your name n[Matthias]?
But when I tested it, it just said: Is your name n[Matthias]?

What am I doing wrong?

I believe it's \n[actor number]

Although I would suggest getting an AMS, Ccoa's UMS is the best (it has a ton of commands, and it's customizable), you can find it on rpgrpgrevolution.com I think.
