Title: Help with computer problems
Post by: Kokowam on February 24, 2008, 09:02:10 PM
I'm having problem with a maybe-virus. RMXP doesn't work because it's corrupted (which is due to a virus that's said in the little pop-up) and my Starcraft is unable to verify it's version because of a virus (I checked the support place). I just reformatted my computer so there shouldn't be any viruses, and also, before I reformatted, I virus-checked with Spybot S&D and a-squared free but they always turned up with nothing. Help?

Boil your hard drive in hot water. That's what I do to my tooth brush after brushing my teeth when I have a virus. ._.'

Re-installing them won't help. It's the exact same error I got before and re-installing didn't help then. >_>

I dun go to porn sites. Also, I'll try AVG. I forgot about that. I downloaded it before but it didn't work on the before-reformat.

Local machine: installation failed
    Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avgamsvr.exe: starting service....
            Access is denied.  (5)

It's as if the virus is afraid to let anything detect it. >_> What's a complete system restore?

Thank me that I'm back lol.

OK a fall system retore is basically starting everything back from scratch. Back to factory settings.

So in English, Your comp will be back how it was when you first got it. Yes this means your lose ALL your files but its for the good.

To do a fall system restore find a O/S disk, example XP, Vista, Linux. Place the disk in your comp and reboot it. It should come up about reinstalation. Do what it asks abd your set to go... make sure you know your Serial code, it should either be with the O/S package or printed on the computyer.

P.S. if your comp has a system restore partiton just press F10 while its rebooting. But for the sake of it just follow the above bro.

I did it already. Even after, it failed. I'm going to try re-installing/downloading RMXP and/or switch to RMVX and I can just play SC on my other comp. :P
