Title: rm2k3 grid-based battle system?
Post by: Lord Dante on January 31, 2008, 04:53:13 AM
How plausible would this be? I've seen it in xp, but that was using a script, so obviously much different.

Doable, but would be pretty messy to code. Requires some picture manipulation as well. The algorithms would probably be the same as the xp script, but more inefficient due to the limitations of commands.

yeah. would you suggest it to somebody who doesnt really have rm2k3 eventing experience (such as myself)? I dunno. Sounds like a pretty advanced endeavor. i know that i wouldn't do it on-map, because that would be a pain. Also an issue would be the menus and all the damage variables. Wouldn't I effectivley have to make a second database for every enemy?
Then there is the question of enemy AI...

It'd be quite difficult if you don't have some eventing experience. But, it is possible I should think. I am not speaking from knowledge, but it seems likely that there might be one out there on gamingw or somehting :/
