Title: [Visual] Shadow Lord

"He commands the dark armies with unholy vehemence and cunning.  They say he is not human; he does not sleep, he does not eat.  No one has ever seen his face.  His eerie cape, weaved together with human hair, is a symbol of his brutality and his dark, cold armour is a testament to his frozen heart."

This character represents "dark".

Thom Yorke is being used as a display pic by a friend of mine who loves Radiohead.  I was chatting with him when I took the screenshot.

Thanks for the comments. =D

Wow... Are you hand-drawing these or using Photoshop or something? Either way....

F***ING IMPRESSIVE :D

Used Photoshop from start to finish.  I posted the WIPs so you can see my process.  I drew and painted everything from scratch using a wacom tablet.  Not sure if that's what you meant by hand-drawing.  I used the blur filter 3 times but other than that everything was created using the default round brush.

it's truly amazing. However, for you, as an artist, being so great at drawing hands, it's odd to me that all of his fingers are the same length... I dunno. Besides that, there's something else off about them...maybe how stretched out his right hand would have to be to make the armor plates touch like that.
But, this is still amazing. Good work =)

Well the idea is that the fingers are bent differently.  But yeah I see what you're saying.  Yeah I don't know it really just comes down to me needing more practice. =(

Also ty BM.

yes, but the rest of us need much more practice than you. Your drawings off of real-world models are great, your coloring is amazing, but I notice in most of your drawings- great as thet are- there's just something about them that blocks them off from me...except the gladiator one...that one was awesome. For instance, here, i don't really feel the menace. Probably because his back is turned to me, so it isnt intimidating... although you probably had a different vision for the piece. I'm not saying you're a bad artist, far from it in fact, but...well, I dunno man. Just keep at it- you're doing great.

I think it's very menacing, and I love that it's a dark snowy night. Well, I assume it's night. It's hard to tell really.

I thought it just looked smokey/cloudy...which I think is better. Could be night though.

It's just a very cloudy day.

And believe me, I know I am far from good.  But I love art and I will keep working to improve.  I appreciate you guys giving both critiques and compliments because both help me out a lot.

But never feel satisfy with our art is a good thing. That means we'll just need to improve more and more.
Al, you have the most important thing as an artist, you're modest.

Some artists I once knew just brag bout their art when they're famous. That's so dissapointing.
I'm glad that you're not like 'em.

More talented, less experienced.

@Emi - I don't brag because quite frankly no artist should.  An artist owes his success to his audience.  He owes his skill to hard work and practice.  And his talent is a gift; it is given, not earned.
