Shouldn't thiis be in 'Help'?  Meh, either way...
In the animation for skills or attacks and such you can use the 'set' option to select what the battlesprite does when using said attack/sill, whether it be staying still, steping forward or running to the enemy.
For the walking left/right animation itself, that's covered in the 'Aimations 2' tab under poses for whatever character.

'specific' maybe...
Right, in the skills and items tab when making weapons and skills, there is a wee box for animations with a 'set' button underneath it.  When you clicky that a window pops up and shows you the battle layout with various options for use in battle, including what actions the battle sprite will take upon the use of said weapon/skill.  One of these options is the postioning, in a pull-down menu.  It gives the option of 'no movement', 'step forward' and 'move to target' (I think one more but I can't remember...) select 'move to target' and in battle, when using that weapon/skill, the batle sprite will jump towards the target and execute the attack.
