:bean: i had to put that....anyways
i am kinda new to the rpg makers and i recently got rpg maker 2003 and am woundering....
When i create an even and it asks me for trigger condition, what does parallel process meen? please help.
In RPG Maker XP (and I assume it would be the case in 2k3) a parallel process runs in the backround, so it's useful if you want to like, have the player press R and then something would happen.
You may not need it at all, but hopefully you get the jist of how it's used.
Ok well i dont understand what to do...because i am having a very hard time making a cut scene...
so what should i use to make it so when i enter somewhere a guy runs past me?
Make an event thats trigger is set to 'Touched by Hero' and Event Layer to 'Below Hero', and place that event on the tile that you want to activate that running guy event (basically, when you step on this event the other guy will run by).
Next, under the 'Event Commands' find the 'Switch Operations' option (1st page, right side) and make it turn the Single Switch 0001 (You can also name it w/e you like) ON (under 'Operations').
Then, have another event set up from where you want the other guy to run. In that event, set the Event Layer to 'Same Layer as Hero'. Don't forget to set the other guy's graphic under the Event Graphic. Then, on the top, click the 'New Page' button. On the second page, set its trigger to 'Auto Start' (if you want to not be able to move while it happens), or 'Parallel Process' (you will be able to move at the same time the other guy is running past). Set its Event Layer to 'Same Layer as Hero'. In the top left corner, under the Preconditions, check the first 'Switch' option and select the switch 0001. In the Event Commands, select the 'Move Event' on the 2nd page bottom right column. Select the actions you want it to take (1 action per command). Make sure to set Event Name to 'This Event'. After which, put in a 'Proceed with Movement' in the Event Commands (found right under the 'Move Event'). As a final thing, put in the 'Switch Operations' with switch 0001 again, although this time at the bottom set it to OFF.
Thats pretty much all there is to it :bean:
lol wow complex...but i got it....thanks man...
P.process is the exact same thing as Auto-Start beside the fact that auto-start doesn't let you move while P.Process let you do.
5 things to say. 1. Your new hi welcome to the world of rpg maker 2003 and 2000. Secondly Parrell progress starts and contiunously going in the background when the map is loaded, auto start is the same thing only your unable to do anything else.
3. Hint with events, watch to see if it's below, same hight, or above the hero.
4. When a problem is Resolved please place [resolve] in the topic.
5. need more help just ask.
