Title: [RESOLVED]How can I export the maps from the Editor?
Post by: Jepherz on January 03, 2008, 05:19:50 AM
Hey all, I was pondering for a long time asking myself if it was possible to export the maps I make in RPG MAKER XP....
If you know any way to do that, or if it's simply not possible, I'd appreciate it!

Thank you very much :) :tpg:

As far as I know, it is not possible, ive tried tinkering around with it a bit. But its just not in the cards lol. Perhaps there is a program that makes that possible, but I have not come across one. If there IS a way, im sure someone who knows will post it haha.

Aaaah, Snap.

Alright then I guess I could search one more time, trying to find a program that does it.

Thanks anyways!  :)

Come to think of it. Try this, if this is what you are tyring to do.

Open up Project A, Copy map from Project A, close Project A, Open project B, Copy map to the Map Tree where you want it in Project B.

+repped ya for being cool lol.

good thing I showed you this Domino.
yup, copy paste works from games to games.
all you have to do,it to change the teleports, since its not the same maps anymore(map 0001,0002 etc)

edit:

i forgot, copy paste IN the game(i mean, the folder where you edit, not the file ''map 0001'' into your game's folders.)

Well, I already knew you could copy/paste from game to game...

But what I'm trying to do is export the village map to make an in-game map of the village...

Thanks again :)

Sorry :-\ I agree that is quite unclear... Let's just explain the whole situation:

I have the map of village A and in that village there's a bulletin...
When the player goes to check out the bulletin, they see a map
of the current village.

The reason why I want to export the map is because I think that having to draw it completely from scratch would be deadly.

Thank you very much and sorry, again.

screenshot your village then do *show picture?*
what you can also do is,screenshot it on 1/1 or 2/2 scale, and make it a key input(if left then camera pan: left side) etc etc

Would this work?

Copy and paste the map twice into the game. Then whenever someone sees the bulletin Just have it go to that map. Then use Key Input Processing, to exit that map, you would only need one switch operation to do that.

or like he said. copy paste the map, delete all npcs and events, make the hero invisible and just do a key input with left right up down and escape(quit bulletin)
you should be all right with either the copy paste map, or the picture.

Well that's what I wanted to do but I honestly don't know how to take a screenshot... :-\

Thanks for mentioning it though, never know if I wouldn't have been aware of it. ;)

Heres how then. Put the screen up you want to take a shot of, press print screen, (this will copy your screen. Then go to paint. Press paste. It will be there. It would be best to press print screen while playing in full screen mode, to ensure that you can see everything the best.
