...but Im not sure what kind of style.
For example, I really like rock/metal, but...
A. Im not sure if the guitarist can play thrash metal
B. I have never heard a girl bellow
Halp?
Start with one and gradually shift your style over each album. Like Incubus, but more obvious.
sounds good, thanks
I don't want to see you on myspace with dark black hair, makeup, back cloths that don't fit, and a big sign saying "we sound like every other fucking band"
I promise, I'll wear bright pink shirts, bublegum shoes, and scream like a deathmetal band(lol jk)
But I will not sound like every other band, I wanna be different.
There's a big difference between wanting to be different and actually being different. I don't think there's a band out there that doesn't want to be different.
Panic At The Disco and their failed attempt at sounding like Fallout Boy (which is actually good because I hate fallout boy.)

Actually, if you read their bio, they were more inspired by Blink 182 (FAVORITE BAND ;8) and tried going for a sound like them but FAILED ;D because no one can match Blink 182's fame... though they are on a hiatus.
Are you honestly implying that it's difficult to emulate Blink-182?
Not at all, Im just a fan. So, you know the typical behavior of fans towards their favorite whatever. ;8
If you REALLY want to sound different. I like to experiment with instruments a lot, and use them in ways they aren't supposed to be used. I put a drum stick under my guitar strings to make the notes a higher pitch, then I hit the strings with chopsticks. It sounded erm..interesting. I even made a song with it.
Remember to be creative. D:<
I remember i put music back on purevolume a few years back when i was a guppy. I was the aaa's
you wanna do thrash? Megadeth, testament, slayer etc? It's so hard to find people that will play that stuff believe me. It's a big new thing. New Wave Of Thrash coming back so you should be able to find some people. Keep it fast, agressive, shredding but with a heap of uniqeness to it. thats how a band is remembered in thrash.
NECRO'D
why don't you try mixing rap with rock?
Linkin Park did it :D
I don't know go for what the vocalist wants
yeah make a new sound...
try singing through a roadcone...
DOUBLE NECRO
I think by now hes already formed a band, broken up, and done a comeback tour
or perhaps he's formed a band, but got so annoyed by his corporate image that he shot himself in the head
