His mistake was assuming he had enough time to blink.
With this piece I tried to capture the feeling of a near-death experience. I've had a few near-death moments in my life and I notice that in each case time seems to slow down, light seems abnormally bright, and the whole moment has an ethereal dream-like quality to it. I kept all that in mind when I was painting this.
By the way I am not actually happy with this. I'm just posting it so you can see what I've been up to.
I've also added this to the the Art Challenge under the theme "Killing".

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, and I'm so damn loving the blood.
@Roph - =P
@Ferenn - Thanks, I'm glad you like it! This was made using Photoshop. I drew and painted it using the various tools provided by Photoshop.
@Jap - Thanks! The blood was fun to do.
Reminds me of Assassins Creed.
Anyway, I love your work, but the look on the killers face looks as if she is just all calm or sth.
Still very epic though.
Yeah I wanted to make it look effortless.
That looks awesome, to me it looks like a mix between Assassins creed/300/Starwars
She looks like those weird green alien females.
Her boobs and arms look terrible.
@link - Of those three things you mentioned, I've only seen Star Wars.
@Bachyderm - Would be cool if you elaborated. =(
They look unrealistic. Her left arm looks like it's bent the wrong way and her left boob appears to be about 4 times bigger than her right one.
Yes, I see what you mean with the left arm. Thanks for pointing that out.
Breath-taking.
Awesome work, garygill. :P
Thank you, kind sir.
This is awesome!
:flog: for this image ;-;
Thanks for the compliment and amazing use of the new emoticon. I laughed irl.
