Title: [RESERVED] A cooking script...(not the usual craft script!)
Post by: magic2345 on December 07, 2007, 05:38:44 AM
EDIT: Oops, wrong section. Sorry, can a mod move this topic to the requests section?

I need a cooking script that is similar to Tales of Eternia's.

Basically, the player can choose who will make the food. The quality and effects of the food is different with every character. This way, the player'll need to do a lot of cooking in order to know the best character to make the specified food. Also, the more the character cooks, the better the character's skill at cooking the food.

If anyone is willing to make it for me (or find one that's similar), post!

Thanks,

I'm interested. Would I be right in assuming that the food is consumed immediately upon being cooked?

My knowledge of the cooking system is based off of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss, so I am only assuming these features exist. IN any case, in those games you can select a quick cook which sets a person and a meal and it will allow you to cook that food immediately after battle by pressing a button. Would this be retained? As well, you can only cook once each battle, which means that if you cook right after battle, then you would not be able to cook in the menu until you fight another battle. Would you also want this feature? I'd also like to see layouts for anywhere that you want the cooking function to appear. Further, I would like a layout for the cooking menu itself, as it would appear in the menu.

Lastly, in Tales games there are four active characters and four inactive characters. Naturally, you can set inactive characters to cook. Do you have an inactive party script? If so, can I see it so that I may implement the feature?

Now, if you want me to take this, I do not promise a quick result. Arrow has been waiting patiently for a script hee requested a long long time ago, and further I have Zeriab's scripting contest to consider and another script that's been on my mind. It may be quite a while before I can return a result. Also, I do not promise exclusivity, though if you do not want me to publish the script you can make an offer.

Hm? So this is not the wrong place to put it?  ???

Yes, the food is immediately cooked.
>Cook after battle
Yes, I would like this please.
>Cook after battle then you can't cook at the menu
No, don't put this in.
>Where the cooking function appear.
Well, everywhere, I guess.
>A layout for the cooking menu.

Oh, make the recipe grayed out if the ingredients aren't enough.

Thanks,

No, it is technically the wrong place to put it, but as I do not have magical mod powers I can't really move it. Technically, you should also edit the first post and add [RESERVED] to the title.

Also, the cook immediately after battle thing: you want that to be quick cook or do you want to be able to open the menu directly from there. If quick cook, what hotkey do you want to use for it?

Also, what I meant before was where do you want to be able to access the main cooking menu? From the menu? Through a hotkey? If the former is the case, then are you using a CMS? If so, please post it.

I added the RESERVED to the title.

Um.....the A key on the keyboard. Btw, I use it as "L" in the game.
Oh, and I use blizzard's easy level up notifier.

From the menu, but I want it to be able to call it with a call script.
Well, for the CMS, I just edited the quit option into the cook option.

Thanks,
