Title: Music, anyone?
Post by: Mushroom Panda on November 26, 2007, 08:21:36 PM
Hey!

It's been a while since I was last here. I posted a conceited post about how I just installed Vista, and ahwell.

Goodnight (mp3) (http://psy_co.webs.com/downloads/music/Goodnight.mp3)
Forever (mp3) (http://psy_co.webs.com/downloads/music/Forever%5FNew.mp3)

Since I left, I've put a lot of time into composing music and such.
If anyone needs music for their games, just ask. I'm here for that, now.

I can write any length, or style, or theme. Just ask, providing details.

I can't test your RMXP games with my songs, as I am running Vista Home Premium (sadly). I do have RM2003 running.

I must request that no one uses the supplied sample songs in their games. They're personal songs that I just posted to show what I can do. =DD

(P.S. welcome back ^^)

I can also do sound effects!

Here's just a small one that I made for a Half-Life style FPS my friend started a while ago.
Click. (http://psy_co.webs.com/downloads/music/sndfx01.mp3)

It's a sound effect for a charge weapon that he has in his game.

I'll do full scores, sound effects (ie: wind, water, footsteps, running, beeping, feedback, etc), along with short tunes.

I can do any mood and style, from happy swing and moderate jazz to depressing folk and eerie horror scores.

The only thing that I will not, and cannot (by copyright issues) do, is copy melodies or any shape or part of a different score. I will NOT do this, even if it's legal.

Thanks.

Attached are some sound effects that I've made. I can extend the length on any of these if you want me to.

YOU MAY USE THESE IN YOUR GAME IF YOU WANT. I JUST NEED TO BE LISTED IN THE CREDITS.

pythonusr: RAR file with 4 folders (6 total) and 15 files totaling > 1MB.

Nice SFXs! Btw, I have a request.
I need:
- A BGM for when people talk. It should be cheerful and happy.

Thanks,

"Forever New" is pretty awesome.
I don't really have any need for new music, I just wanted to say that.

Thanks for the comment on the sound effects!

And I'll get right to work on a BGM when people are talking. Just gimme a day or so.

This is what I mean by ripping melodies.

I don't listen to this kind of music at all, I just found a steel drum setting on my synth and decided to make this.

[And I also realize the rhythm is way off in this rip, I just did that so you can't USE this anywhere.]

Alright, here is a test for your skills. ^-^

Needs to have...
- A sad feeling
- Epic feeling
- Battle feeling

Basically, its an epic losing battle.

Shouldn't be too hard right? Oh and it doesn't need too high a tempo.

Do this and I will recognize your talents. :blizj:

... Wow ...

This is amazing. Haha, it's odd, but listening to the stuff you have posted inspires me to make a game lol. Too bad I'm outta that now. I only do graphic work and mapping.

I must say, you do a very very good job sir.

I'm going to be honest here, but these songs don't really have any form to them. I think you're starting out well, but they sound a bit empty. Maybe experiment with adding some backing to them.

I'll get right on it!

Do you have any specific instruments in mind that I should use? Percussion or no percussion?

Edit: Also, will this be played during the battle, or after it? So I know how long to make this.

Percussion- Yes, but not too much

And its during battle.

And as for instruments, mainly just classical styled ones. Strings, some brass, and some percussion.

I'm using an orchestra and a trumpet, along with a little percussion, but not too much as you stated. Ie: A crash/bass drum hit every once and a while, a snare roll here and there.

As for during battle, that means it's gonna have to be pretty long, so give me a little bit for this.

Quite alright. :)

I don't need it immediately. And I don't want you to rush. ;)

Sad and epic. This should be fun to write.

So, did you use a program to make any of these? (I haven't listened to any of the yet)
Or did you use a synth?

I wish I had a KORG.
I'm running Reason 3.0 and everything is MIDI based. Nothing is just like... playing music.

I'm running FL, and I got completely damn sick of using the piano roll, so I saved up a shitload of money and bought myself THIS: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Korg-MicroKORG-Synthesizer---Vocoder-101934982-i1154285.gc

A while ago. Sure it isn't the BEST, but it gets the job done.
