I've seen a lot of similar threads, but I assure you my question is different.
I know that to display the name of an actor in a text window, you type the command \N[n] in the box. My game lets you choose which actors go in your party and in which order at the very beginning, a la Final Fantasy I. This means that actor #7 may be party member #2, etc., and I don't know which characters my players (If I ever finish the game) will choose. So my question is, how do I make the text display the name of party member x, as opposed to actor x?
RPG Maker XP by the way.
Do you have a script that does the /N[n] thing? Because they took that out of XP, it was only in 2k/2k3.
It's in XP. I'm using all the default scripts and I've done the command before.
Hmm... Standard scripts I don't remember having that command. I remember having to use DubeAlex's advanced text script to make those commands properly....
On a similar note... does anyone know how to force the name being displayed is the variable from the "input hero name"? meaning I name "hero" "bob"... whenever I use the command to call the characters name it shows up as "Hero" and not "bob"
