Your thoughts.
Oh...my...god...
If the FBI finds out the internet is the center of all crime, we're screwed.
1. Get some guns.
2. March up to the CRIA offices.
3. Retake Red Square the internet.
DEFEND MOTHERLAND INTERNET!
You've got to fight for your rights or you'll lose them. Pirate Bay has the right idea even if they're kind of shitty. The problem is most sites just fold and lay low the moment someone challenges them.
DEFEND THE BASES AND ATTACK THE DAMN PITCHER. WE'RE IN WAR.
Recruiting bad-eye computer geeks to fend the internet!
I was a member of demonoid. For christ sakes THE WORLD IS FUCKED!
The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.
:( Lol.
OH DEAR GOD NO!
Its not really Demonoid's choice. It was their server company. Torrents are going to be gone in a few years anyway, and usenet will pretty much be the only safe way to get pirated files.
Anywho, i usually just use www.btjunkie.com (http://www.btjunkie.com).
I never liked demonoid, if I could write my own torrent client I'd make it auto block all "Torrent downloaded from demonoid.com.txt" files.
The secrecy of it is pretty much an illusion; you can easily get an account, and you don't even NEED one to use the tracker for some things.
Say I download a torrent from somewhere else that happens to have demonoid as one of the trackers, it'll add to my bandwidth status at demonoid :/
I almost feel like saying good riddance, same for tv-links.
Either way, the tracker is still up, just the site down right?
I use TPB/ISOhunt/Mininova in that order for public stuff, or a few (real) private trackers for most of my stuff :)
OiNK (elitist asshole infested music torrent site) was recently shut down; I don't miss that place and in fact left before it happened :)

Hmmmm.
I once obtained an invitation to OiNK in an attempt to acquire a better filesharing source. However, I found much of the OiNK community to be elitists and their standards absurdly stringent. It seemed that in order to download anything from OiNK, you first had to upload or make available twice as much. And heaven forbid you have basic procedural questions; their FAQs seemed quite unforgiving of people who weren't already experts at creating torrents.
I spent a week reading through the OiNK guides, lurking and studying the patterns of established users. In the end, I didn't like what I saw, an elite cadre of audiophiles who cast a disapproving glare at the music community from within the high walls of their precious, precious ivory tower. Yes, OiNK was a good site for acquiring high quality albums at the earliest moment of opportunity, but the internet benefits from trickle-down theory like nothing else can; I could wait.
I'm not truly sad to see OiNK go. Their place will be assumed by another cackling heap of elitists, I'm sure. But I'm amused by the fervent attempts by Interpol and others to put the damper on technological progress. Eventually, the music industry will understand that technology has outmoded 90% of their business practices. Until then, I'll just continue laughing.
thats 2 in about 2 months now though whats next for the law to get their pedantic teeth into
WE'RE NOT GIVING UP
What was Demonoid, in the first place?
Edit: Oh, wait... I will just use the Wikipedia.
But LOL, that is absurd.
Edit: BitTorrent tracker. I never use BitTorrent, so this barely affects me. Although I seriously hope this thing about restricting the internet does not spread for other things. Imagine how internet geeks like me would feel... I spend more time here than in the real world sometimes.
OMG! first tv-links gets taken down,,and now demonoid. FFS!!!
The internet is dying Cloud!

Hi Halo, Well I just hope Silver doesn't lose access to those special files in the future.
Demonoid wasn't just tracking torrents, they were tracking LIVES. In the non-governmental way.
demonoid always had the better torrents when i went to go look, im kinda sad it's down. i use other ones now, but i get more spam than usual
