Title: making a mini-game
Post by: weston on October 20, 2007, 12:41:53 AM
Me and a friend are making a game for school using rmxp, and we want to include one of those sliding games that are always in Zelda where the floor is ice and there are boulders you have to push that slide until they hit a wall (that part was simple enough just add some move away from hero commands)and when the character steps he slides until he hits a wall or a boulder. That is the part we are having trouble with and have yet o find a solution, if any of you guys out there have done something like this before a push in the right direction would be appreciated :D.

I haven't used XP in a while and I don't wanna download Postality watever, but lemme give this a shot. Make a snow area and make some with an icy looking floor. Then make events where "if player steps here, move ?? spaces to the ?? direction." In other words, if it's a perfect square of ice, one on one side, if you step on it would move you in a certain direction. I guess that's how it would go.

Hm...
I have a script that does this.
The sliding part at least.

This shouldn't be too hard to make, the vital commands are conditional branches and move events.
