Hey hey! Told you it was happening, I totally did! Okay, the demo is now available. Not the one from the contest, but our now fully debugged, organized, updated, and operational update. Still making it 2003, so you know.

Introducing the Chip Receipt system! After each battle that is completed (running away forfeits your chances) this window will appear, and you will have a chance to receive a chip from one of the enemies you defeated!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PLOT SYNOPSIS

The game takes place in an alternate universe. It has no serious links to the official storyline, but the characters retain their basic personalities. Protoman's operator Chaud, however, has been tentatively replaced with a new female character: Amelie.

In this game, Mega Man catches Star Man at a cosmo research facility attempting to commandeer a high power laser. Shortly thereafter, attacks are made on other important facilities, seemingly controlled and planned out by an unseen party. Mega Man cannot hope to be prepared for what he will soon face- a power strong enough to use the internet to take over Earth!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DEVELOPMENT TEAM

ahref: Debugger, misc.
Amelie: Plot Adviser, Main Cast
Arrow: Project Head, Spriter, Concepts, Compiler
Nouman: Mapper

Looks good, but I don't like rm2k3 games, so I don't think I will play it.

But from what I can say, I say it looks good.

Just a quick shot of the chipset I'm working on.

I said earlier today that I'd be doing very little sprite work, if any, for this. I was very wrong. I'm gonna be doin' a lot.

I'm becoming predictable in my old age, am I?

*knocks on head with cane, hobbles off*

The Town map is pretty much done, other than a few minor chipset tweaks. I'll post it here in second. :D

She's not joking, btw, it's the purple one. :D

Eva is Protoman's operator. :D

EDIT:  A shot of Lan's House early in development. Not that his room takes all that long anyway.

I'm gonna post more pics when I get home. Lan's room is, for all intents and purposes, finished. The rest of his house is disgusting.

I'll fix that chipset later.

Right now I'm working on the fun parts: Events! ;)

YOU BET YOUR ASS.

Wingard is gonna make a full synchro system soon, and I'm trying to think up a way to do program advances. (Though I am having great difficulty, seeing as how no matter what you can only use one skill per party member per turn, period.)

I'm also trying to design Battle Network style versions of the bosses from the X series.

You could make a shop of somekinda, that you take chips and combind them into the move.

like if you combined two Cannon shot, you'd get a double cannon shot... or Mega cannon shot.

That's an awesome idea!

I'd make it so there was only a chance of getting it though, and it'd be an item you could only use once.

OR ALTERNATIVELY

I make a skill for the advance that you learn for a price. This skill activates a common event, and if you have all of the chips (that you haven't used on a character) needed for the skill, it eats them and you use the move.

Which would you guys prefer?

Modern Algebra is going to try to make a menu script for us.

It goes without saying by that comment that we are definitely moving to XP if there are no further obstructions.

I know, I'm sorry. :( Once we get past the conversion stage here, you'll have lots more work, I promise.

Also:

Unlike RM2K3, in RMXP all of the sprites appear exactly as imported (as opposed to 2K3, which just doubled their sizes.) In order to compensate for this, I am probably going to have to double the size of the in battle graphics. What you see below is an example of how this might work, using a custom cannon as the guinea pig.

Update: Redesigning the main characters tonight before I start doing their actual sprites for the game.

Vile was done first.

EDIT: Sigma. Yeah I know there's hardly any difference but it's fucking sigma, he's more than a little base. The second form will be where the magic happens. You will not be seeing that until the game is done, and you've reached him yourself though, sorry.
