Well this is interesting.
Quote from: The Pirate BayThanks to the email-leakage from MediaDefender-Defenders we now have proof of the things we've been suspecting for a long time; the big record and movie labels are paying professional hackers, saboteurs and ddosers to destroy our trackers.
http://digg.com/tech_news/ThePirateBay_org_files_charges_against_media_companies/Apparently The Pirate Bay is filing charges against the Swedish correspondents of some of Americas largest entertainment companies due to a leaked e-mail from
MediaDefender by MediaDefender-Defenders, containing information pointing to their involvement in a lot of sabotage activities against P2P users among other illegal activities. Hopefully with some media pressure and support from the piracy and copyright movements and organizations over here this will lead somewhere.
There's not much info yet but you can read the whole thing
here, and there's a section on it in the
MediaDefender article on Wikipedia. There's also some MediaDefender torrents available on
The Pirate Bay

Look at it this way, if they find the other companies guilty then they will find the hackers, just gives america more people to throw in jail.
I would love to hear what they said to the police,
'Help hackers are destroying our...er...website'
'What are they targeting sir?'
'er...er...pictures...'

The pirate bay is a
tracker, it merely connects people together, and no copyrighted information ever passes through it. The same goes for .torrent files, they contain only filenames, hash values and IP adresses along with various other bits of misc metadata,
none of which can be copyrighted.
TBP only tracks connections and hosts .torrent files.
The Pirate bay is legal within it's own swedish jurisdiction, and arguably legal in other places too. Though the motion picture / recording industry ass. of amerca try to bully their will on them, through sleazy methods or by bribing more congressmen, pulling strings etc etc.
What without question IS illegal are some of the methods that MD / RIAA / MPAA and others have employed to try and shit all over TBP and other torrent systems, hence, interesting to see what'll happen lol ~
Ah ok, so it's both are saying the other are in the wrong, sounds like a high school fight =/
or... you know... any fight :P
;9..........maybe
If we lived in
SOVIET RUSSIA
we wouldn't have this problem, would we?
Yes.
