Well, you shouldn't be upset. This just proves that Sega/Nintendo actually listen to their fans. Yes, it may not be something you like as a game, and you might not like a combo, but I guarantee you are in LOVE with the concept behind it. That concept of course being that the consumer requests something long and loud enough, and the developer complies.
I do not understand your collective bewilderment, even if Sonic and Mario could not logically compete.
I'll have to wait for a review before thinking about getting this game. I'm not one to make premature judgments on video games, so we'll just have to see. Unless it's a good judgment. <_<;

No, fighting has a negative connotation. You do not have a "higher grasp [of] the English language", and fighting/competing are not perfect synonyms.
Also, what led you to make that stupid fighting comment in the first place? No one even remotely mentioned the two developers in that way.

3D Sonics do suck. Sure, Battle Adventure 2 was awesome, but it wasn't Sonic.
They should at least let you use Super Sonic and Hyper Knuckles.

See, it's easier to understand now, but there's still two problems: A) it's not necessarily true (both still make videogames, and as such both compete for your dollar) and B) nobody knows why the hell you brought it up in the first place.
Because the war between Mario n Sonic died with the Dreamcast. Relevant to the topic.
Anyway, Sega is now happily making money as a second party, and this game is probably just made to end the damn crappy Newgrounds videos.
