Title: Metroid Dread, is it still alive?
Post by: Knight Rider on August 27, 2007, 09:58:36 PM
If your playing Metroid Prime 3, you may be scanning alot of stuff, but you will know somethi ng when you scan a certaing thing, description? "Experiment status report update: Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing the final stages of completion"....is this a hint of Metroid Dread that is in its final stage of completion (or a demo) or is just a little something that Retro put there to lose our minds.

Here where I found about this: http://ds.ign.com/articles/815/815899p1.html

And yeah, I read that article. It's pretty interesting. I had never heard about Metroid: Dread before, so it took me by surprise. Well, if it IS almost done, I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'd say they might be working on a new hunters game, but the thing is this is the last prime game according to the case.

yes, this is the last metroid game (following the storyline) since Metroid are exterminated, samus lost her suit, and the X are still screwing around (i think)

they never said it was the last metroid game, just the last prime game, theres bound to be more metroid games. Like they'll make it like the x replicated the DNA of a metroid n shit happened metroids are back.

Simply because the Prime property/trilogy is over doesn't mean there wont be more Metroid FPS games, because the model is too successful to ignore. Dread will probably be a 2d game, which'll be pretty awesome.

To be honest no, just for gameplay purposes, i like snes games better then nes games.

Metroid Zero Mission was better then the origonal, i don't like it that much its too akward.

but the question is why they cancelled it? Everyone loves 2d metroid games, so why stop?

Well if you look at metroids history, they have released games, like 5-8 years after eachother, and now they're comming out once every other year, maybe they're just letting her settle for a bit, to let everyone start wanting another metroid. Yah Dig?

I swear to god if there is another FPS I will lose any and all absolute faith in the Metroid series. We need a platformer, NOW.
