When I use a switch with an event something keeps happening where a blank text box shows up and the character is unable to do anything. It is set up like this . . .

Show Choices: Activate

. . . Any help would be appreciated. I can put up a screenshot later if it helps.
Where does it give the blank text box? Is activate the only choice? I'll take you up on the offered screenshot
The blank text box is near the bottom where the text usually shows up. Here is a screenshot of what happens in the game. The text box shows up and you can't move or do anything. The music is still playing and everything else is working fine.

Here is page 1 of the event.

Mmm... I can see everything so clearly.
Not sure if this will work, but try putting the switch AFTER the message.
I meant where in the event does it pop up (at the first message, the show choices?). Also, try adding another choice. I haven't used PK but that might be a bug associated with it. Putting the switch after or before won't make a difference I don't think.
I tried all of that stuff already, though I appreciate all of your help. I just experimented with it a little more and found out that my switch got mistakenly identified as a parallel process common event that was set to do nothing. As soon as I turned the common event trigger to NONE the problem went away. Thanks for considering my problem.
Ah, makes sense. Glad you found the solution.
