Post by: Master_of_Time on November 10, 2005, 02:50:17 PM
Here it is! My masterpiece!

Keep in mind, it's supposed to be young link but since zshadowzero27
never sent me the battler, I used adult link. So, enjoy!

Yeah, I think I made him a little too hard. But there is a red potion in Link's
house. Go to the top middle room and inspect the jar that has no lid. Also,
there's 250 rupees in the cupboard in the bottom left corner of the house. :D

Cool. You're a good gamer. Also, some areas of the game such that show
miscellaneous names like a graveyard or something has the names of people
in the credits. Just a little "bonus" thing to look for. Except for one grave in
Link's town. It says "old man Jameken" He's not in the credits. lol

Post by: dragonmagna on November 12, 2005, 11:08:13 PM
I don't like your game.
Heres why-
In the town, you can walk up the waterfall.
You can't go back to the town after you enter the cave.
A green potion restores SP, but you have MP....
The boss is too hard.
A treasure chest in the cave claims to give you a stronge red potion but actually gives you nothing.
HaloOfTheSun's name is "Bobby Richeson", not "Bobby Richenson".
The demo was too short. (least important)
In front of the entrance to the first cave, you could walk onto the height above you if you step down while standing on the left corner piece.
you used about 2 windowskins but included a million.

but I do like how you used some of my transitions and all the Zelda SFX from Futaiten.
And I like your mappage ability + your story is pretty good, even though you don't have an opening.

Yeah, I noticed you "borrowed" all of the sounds from me  :^^:  But I don't care, I took them from someone else.

I'm the only person in the whole world that would give out filenames like "Dadadadunnn!!"

Did you get the factory music from Kirby 64 from me, too?  'Cause it has the same filename :^^:
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Master_of_Time on November 13, 2005, 02:56:48 PM
To Yossy:
Yes I "Borrowed" The music and SE from you, Yossy. I like the "DaDaDaDunnn!" :D

And to Dragonmagna:
1)I noticed that and fixed it, it's just not fixed in the demo you downloaded.
2)Same as 1
3)I forgot to fix that so...I should do that.
4)Same as 1 and 2
5)Same as 1, 2, and 4
6)I didn't really look that closely at his name so I thought there was an "N"
7)You're right that is least important
8:You can?
9)Same as 1, 2, 4, and 5

And to poopie or is it?:
What's wrong with you? You're calling me a noob just look on your profile.
You are labeled "newbie"
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Yossy on November 13, 2005, 09:56:09 PM
I like the Dadadadunn too.

I just realized I didn't say anything about your game!

IT'S REALLY COOL!
The way all the townspeople talk to Link, and the farmer that makes you collect the yellow herbs, ...it gives the game the overall feel of a real Zelda game.  It's a neat effect!  I can't describe it.  And when Link plays that one piano and the Yoshi's Island music plays... I was like, "haha!"

I have one suggestion for you, though.  In my experience, I'm thinking the enemy encounter rate was an eensy weensy teeny tiny bit too high.
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Master_of_Time on November 13, 2005, 09:59:17 PM
Yeah. Like I said earlier, I fixed some errors but they're not fixed in the demo
you downloaded. And since zshadow's back, I'll be ableto get the young link
battler soon. So sit tight and I'll get it right next time.  :D

And thanks for the positive feedback. :D

And did you play the piano in link's house?
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Yossy on November 13, 2005, 10:13:44 PM
Yeah, but I didn't recognize the tune.  Dude, I'm a gamer!!  I examine everything! :^^:

I was looking through all of your MIDI's and found that you didn't use a lot of Zelda tunes.  There's one called "Zelda Dance Remix" or something that I just think is the gnarliest thing I've ever heard. :^^:  And, one of the Sonic Adventure 2 MIDI's doesn't play very well on whatever MIDI player RMXP uses.  It wasn't Final Rush, that one sounded good... I think it was the White Jungle.  Yeah.  Didn't sound great.
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Master_of_Time on November 14, 2005, 03:05:06 AM
Yeah. White Jungle was crummy and Final Rush I don't think I'll use.
And the song link plays in his house is the Tetris theme.

And Zelda Dance Remix is very awesome! In my upcoming edited version,
when you are at the waterfall before the first dungeon, go to the right and
examine the white flower on the ground. I won't tell you what it does but I
think you'll like it.

 :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Okay. Now that I have a young link battler, I can fully finish the demo! New
features include:
1-A mini map script. (press CTRL to bring up the map)
2-An opening scene.
3-All the glitches have been fixed
4-There's a secret map included. (at the waterfall right before the dungeon,
examine the white flower at the right of the screen) :D
5-Some names have been fixed due to newly found info.

Okay, it'll be done by tomorrow.  8)

Sweet. Another demo that's the same. :o
And if you really got rid of all the many unnecessary resources like how you said you did, it should be smaller, right?

Yeah, and I noticed yet another problem.
When the guy lets you go to the cave, if you go down from the map where you are standing in front of the cave, then the guy is blocking your way and you can't go back to the town. You said you fixed all the glitches, so you may have fixed this but in case you haven't....

Make an event where the guy is supposed to stand and give him his appearence, then make it so that it is activated by a switch.
And make the default guy change into an invisible sprite(none) when the switch is turned on, so you can enter and leave the town freely. What's the point of getting rupees in a dungeon if you can't use them?

greta demo! mapping is good, althugh i did think that theren't werent enough puzzles for it to be a good zelda game, although that is a high bar, so it was good, except the boss was very hard. is u didnt use a potion u died the next turn, so myabe you want to tone him down a bit. 2ndly...or 3rdly, whatever, anywas, with the jumping and cliffs and so on, make it so that u can fall off the edge of the cliff, other wise it doesn't mean anything when the game says "watch where you step". ok? i love your mapping, and the Lost Woods look great, although you should get the village musci form the one place...i think kokoriko village, although i hbvent played Zelda in  along time >.> sorry. i like the begining quests, although you shouldh ave a sound effect and somethign else when u obtain items from people like the climbing rope and the begingin equipment. gret game, and its on its way! now develop the story in-game!

Yo, Master, any particular reason that you chose white flowers to lead to my map?  I'm only asking 'cause it's a remarkable coincidence... white is one of my favorite colors.  And I love flowers.  :^^:

Your map? I haven't used your map in my demo. And that is a wierd coincidence.
I swear, I had no idea that white was your favorite color. Or that you loved flowers.  :?

I deleted all the files I wasn't using in my game to make the project file
smaller. They shouldn't be in there.  :?

To zshadowzero27: I am still working on the maps you requested and I have
spent many days over summer vacation searching google for battlers of any-

should download faster and All the bugs are fixed, i hope.

There's an opening cutscene that I put together in about ten minutes but

Going kinda off-topic, but I love how much smaller your game is. 1.16 MB is a really good size for a 30-minute game! And when its 300 Minutes, it'll be about 1.17 MB. Keep the resources low, okay, cuz I don't like big games since I'm a wimpy dial-up user.

HEAR THAT PEOPLE? NO GAMES MORE THAN 10 MB!

come with the rpg maker. but i missed one. So just go to the editor and change
it! it's not that hard to do.

no, it isn't.

And when I say don't include all these resources that you don't use, I mean the resources that you will probably never use. So music and such could stay, but windowskins and transitions and others like that should get.

LOSER!
The message box is always transparent and in the middle.(after examining stuff in Links house)
Blue potions restore HP and SP!!! MP, ya foo! again!
Young link walks funny.
That one guy doesn't let you by even when you have a sword & shield.
Looking through the town map, even if the guy DID move, then he would still be standing there facing left when you approach the cave.
In the map in front of the cave, when standing right below the LEFT CORNERPIECE of the mountain thing, you can step down and do the impossible. This is not supposed to happen. (WHICH I ALREADY TOLD
YOU AND YOU SAID YOU FIXED IT)!
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zodm.com%2Fimages%2FVVn88645.jpg&hash=37f2e693f0e133020333531ca868f9153c5a6556) <-There! Now beleive me!
To get out of the cave, you should put it on "On hero touch" instead of "action key"
The dog with an axe should explode or something when you supposedley "kill it"
The boss was too easy
In the boss room, you can walk around, but can't leave.

I was really dissapointed with this. The beginning was good, but with so many things wrong, I mean, really, people aren't going to open their editor and fix all of YOUR problems.
You said you wanted to know "everything" wrong with the game, so I'm telling you.
How come no one else notices these things?

I think I'd have to go harsh on this since I am a zelda fan and it must best the limitations.

I figure it could've used an ABS, since that's what zelda games usually have. Probably a health meter with hearts could be used. Dude when making zelda games you have to consider these things. Link doesnt talk, EVER, so thats well done.

Even though I said an abs would've been better with an abs, the picture of link looks amazing. Did you draw it?

All the scripts were mere cut/paste, so that dont get you many points. But good effort I must say. more things could be added though.

Sorry for being so harsh, but being a zelda fan game, one must consider many many things. :|
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Master_of_Time on November 28, 2005, 10:49:46 PM
Don't worry, dude. that's exactly the kind of criticism i need to help make this
game better! But you see, every ABS I have tried has seriously screwed up other
projects I've tried. And the young link r was made by zshadowzero27 and the
character sets were provided by Lord Dante. As for the scripts. I can't script
for beans, so I used some scripts made by Tsunokiette and Sir_VaIlHor.

And you know what's funny? I was considering making link talk in this game.
But i decided that everyone would get on my case about it, so I abandoned
that idea.

Post by: Yossy on November 29, 2005, 01:34:15 AM
Dude... DON'T.  MAKE.  LINK.  TALK!!

Unlike everyone else here, RPGs are my favorite genre of gamage. So even though an abs would just make the game better, I don't give a darn about the battle system, be it default or not.

Events would be easier to handle.

If he can't, I know Yossy can cuz she has an abs in her game with the hearts and stuff....
But you'd have to have a set variable with the max number of hearts as your starting hearts and when an enemy hits you, variable -1 and you have to do that for enemy HP, too.

BUT with an ABS, the game shouldn't ever be too hard or too easy.
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Master_of_Time on December 04, 2005, 01:31:39 AM
I want it so that the meter just looks like a row of hearts, and then when you get hit,
the meter drops normally, like going through hal-hearts or something. I don't want
it to be one heart at a time.
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: King Anesis on December 04, 2005, 02:37:37 AM
Dude, you can make an ABs in XP WITHOUT SCRIPTS> I"m working on the things right now. WAnt em custom hearts or ripped form other zelda games? lol..

And a few other things:

1. How many hearts total?

I suggest you use the 4 swords version of link. Just because I can easily find abs poses for him.

When you answer them, itll get done.

PS yossy, if your not too too busy, do you think you can translate the Rm2k(3) version of 4 Swords Link to an RMXP Style character? It would help with this game's production.
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Master_of_Time on December 04, 2005, 04:11:27 AM
I would prefer hearts from other zelda games, to keep the classic feel of the game.

Umm....I'm not sure how many hearts total it should be.

And the 4-swords Link looks way out of place with the RTP. I have
the 4-swords Link in all 4 colors, but I don't ever use him.

see mot? there is a point in every game that we all get blocked in, you shouldn't have stopped, at that point that you are at you should ask for help until you get more... "unstuck"
your problam is simple ,you don't know how to make it zelda-like, you should put a topic in spam asking what do people expect to see in a zelda game
if you can follow all the directions then the game is a good zelda game, otherwise ask for help, no shame in it.

i am saying it cause i am 95% sure you will get stuck without that sort of help in your new game too...
it won't be a "wow it's not like a zelda game.. >>" it will be "oh.. what's the point.. i don't feel the passion", remember as the creator you will hate your game after finishing it, why? cause you finished it 10 times while making it..that goes for every part of the game too, so let us be the judges of "does it or does it not look like a zelda game"

anyways, good luck with your new game but hopefully you will stick to this one

blue is absolutely right. You're demo was off to a great start, and almost everybody here liked it and was anxious to see more. You have to keep in mind, that if you finished this project,  you'd have created one of the better RMXP games out there (because there are a lot of bad ones). This has great potential, and of course you're going to get stuck. Everyone gets stuck in their games unless they just don't care, which you obviously do. My advice would be to just don't rush it; take your time. We'll all wait. We don't have anything better to do, lol. And you know of course we're all here to help with any problems.

Yes so dont give up on us or the game, we all have trouble with making games, i definatly do, cause i cant make games i suck, i never work on it unless the internet is cut off, well anyways all i want to say is Dont Quit keep up the story, dont ever stop making it and we will wait for the finished part, and when you finish this game it will be the best one out there, like Halo said, just dont wuit.

2: Ganondorf Character set
3: Someone who is good at coming up with zelda-style puzzles and dungeons

amazing shadow, your lack of respect to the topic leads you to making sure it will be closed by insluting another.

i am quite happy to say, at this rate no one will have any respect to you, if there is actually anyone who still does give you respect
and hopefully a ban will be showen.

mot, an idea for you-
you remember all those stone pushing stuff?
a stone pushing maze can give it a zelda feeling

also you should make grass cutting, it's not a zelda game without twisted grass cutting ^^
and some of them should have holes under them with bonus stuff and all..
oh and the grass should escape lolz, i love escaping grass ^^

Very nice suggestions BlueXx...^^

and you should have a puzzle where you have to get a pig to eat grass...i don tknow it that sounds cool or not but i think it would be challenging...and i'm not sure how you would do it.

Actually, I agree more with zshadowzero...
And mot, I can help with puzzles if you want.
Heres a puzzle hint-
VARIABLES! Never forget to use variables, cuz you can make some gnarly things with them.

And if  you can't get the new battle system, use the default, okay? I don't mind what the battle system is as long as its fun.
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: blueXx on December 24, 2005, 07:56:48 PM
lol variables..
meh mot is already passed the "omg variables are hard" stage..

don't forget to combine a timing para process, a timed puzzle, now that's fun
and if you can do it right, make the puzzle mix up every loop of the para

i mean like every 5sec a random rock will change it's position randomly making it really hard

oh and you can make it like in majora, where you got those mini games and the rooms are spinning annoyingly so it's hard to win or moving earth and such
it can be fun ^^

hurray! you're back! anyways...puzzles...you could always do the one where you have to step on each tile and not go over a stepped one...if you've played any of the GBA zeldas you know what im talking about. Then you could do the one where you have to go o nthe moving plat forms and hit(or i guess for rmxp press spce/enter) those globes to go somewhere else. and then you could do the minecart puzzle...not to sur ehow that would work though. maybe get the minecar tmayhem script?

well...i will once i fix my own game. (f*cking scripts!) btw, i like the minimap you have in yours. I took it XD. well, actually i found it on RMXP...but if you ever want ABS v4, AND the minimap, you'll have the same problem as i do...
(sry im ranting/spamming)

ok, well...the platforms are...whoa, holy crap the paltforms would be hard i supppose. Well...theres a mincart mayhem script out thee somewhere (i sugest checking rmxp) and...the floor wuld involve several, several variables. Hmm...however, you could do the one where you psh the blocks onto the spaces. you know, thecolor-matching? the ntheres the one where you have three of the things where you hit them and htey chang color, and they alternate so you have to  igur ouy how to get all of them the same.

i belive there is an 'input number command'. I don;t know what it does, however, but i imagine that if you have to put them in in a certain sequence then you could simply combine that command with conditional branches and sound effects. btw, when are you gonna have another demo up?

lol.

Oh, so i thought of something that could help MoT with the storyline. Its just a simple diagnostic of the Zelda games.
So, lets look at some story-line properties of the Zelda Franchise thus far:
-Zelda, or some similar maiden is always kidnapped
-An event always happens to set things into motion, be it Gannon imprisoning the Sages, (in the same game) the Deku Tree dieing, Time being warped, or just the fact that Zelda is kidnapped
-You have to collect something (instruments, Sage thingies, Crystals) usually spread throughout a number of dungeons, whic his also evidently usually eight.

So, obviously one who is making a fan game wants to break the mold. These are just points to take into consideration

updated version, then he should too easy. or the other way around. I fixed

well, actually,  i think you should be original and make your own title uninvolving the triforce, like how twilight princes''s has link and his werewolf form, even though its still about Zelda being kidnapped. Better yet, you should involve tingle in the titile screen.

He's been grounded off the computer last I heard and some other stuffed happened with his ex-gf or whatever.

Reguardless, I haven't played the demo because it's been taken off (last I checked) so i can't vote. At any rate, I really can't wait for this game to come out. I'm sure he's done some quality work before that incident happened with his parents.

After the Hylian elder people find Link, he goes to Hyrule Castle where the
king explains the whole ganondorf crisis. Link's task now is to collect three
Hylian crystals in order to strengthen the seal held on ganondorf. After link
complete three dungeons, ganondorf breaks free before you can return to
the castle. When link does return to the castle, ganondorf is already loose and
has wreacked havoc on everything inside. He tries to kill Link, but the power
of the crystals saves his life and sends Link to the realm of the sages.
Here, the spirits of the sages tell him that he must travel to the temples
scattered across Hyrule and reawaken the sages. When Link returns, he
finds that Ganondorf has twisted and corrupted Hyrule. Seven years have
passed, and Link is now an adult. Link must now travel through areas of the
land he's already been, but does not recognize due to Ganondorf's dark

sounds like a modified OoT, especially the seven years part. hmmm... maybe you should add something that hasnt been in a zelda game yet, like, i dunno, Gannon makes 8 evil sages to take over the land and link has to kill them and seal them away to bring back the old sages or something? well, its your game, but remember to get Goron and Zora charsets, otherwise it wont be a good fan game XD

Good luck on what your doing!

Many thanks to whoever gets/makes them for me.

I actually don't have an ABS. I'm sticking to the default battle system because
All the ABS's that I've tried wrecked my project. So, if anyone can get one that
WORKS for me and can make/get me the proper animations, then I'll think about
having an ABS.  8)

Okay. I read all the instructions. I pretty much understand how to set
up a monster and the skills and such, but I don't know where to put the
script. Can someone help me out?

Also, going with Lord Dante's 'Dark Sages" idea, I am going to make it so
that Ganondorf has captured the spirits of the sages and trapped them in
the bodies of six evil creatures that are the Dark Sages.

I'm drawing pictures of what these evil creatures will look like. If I can get my
scanner to work, then I'll post them here.

above main. The...SDK goes farthest away from main, then it goes ABS 1 etc. until ABS3 which should be right by main

You can get the illegal legal version!
In the rm2k3, rmxp discussion of the forums, Cheezball made a patch, so that if you have the trial version use the patch and you have the full version as if you payed for it but didn't!
Even if some cops came to your house, you could just say "I'm using the legal version."
Its good stuff, man. Don't forget, you could use legal scripts and play legal games and make legal games, so ITS GOOD!

Only losers who only care about insulting other people and their games would really, REALLY care about that second part.

And how slow, exactly, does that ABS make your game go? Because it can't be as slow as some certain things that I can think of that are slow.

Well...not THAT slow, but you can still notice that it is slower. The movement
of the sprites and the letter-by-letter text gets kind of jumpy. It's not a big
deal, but I'll have to edit some events so that certain timings are better.

Dude! Thats GOOD. Keep that ABS, I say. Most other ABSs either-
A. Don't work
B. Are hard to use
C. Not fun

But its hard to make an ABS not fun, so bleh.
And with slowness, I am veeerrrry patient. And since it isn't THAT slow, then it would probably be not bad and be good instead. SO KEEP THAT ABS, BOY!

MoT, the only LttP-type battle system is the one I used.  You can tweak it to your liking, but if what I have isn't what you're looking for, then I can't help you.  A lot of other people have been asking me if they can use my battle system, and asking how I did it, so I guess one of these days I'll post a tutorial or something.  Or even better, release a short, simplified version as a demo game that can easily be tweaked to suit anyone's needs, including notes and stuff...

It's not like I did anything revolutionary... I just used what RM2k3 supplies you with.  Anyone can do that.  I mean, if I could, anyone could.

make them circular objects...

and Near's ABS doesnt actually show a sprite as in, a charset, of you swingin the sword, jus the abttle animation. What i mean when i said alot of battle animations was actually usig the charset swinging a sword in a battle animation, its a bit hard to explain...

Maybe with the quest they should be fragments of a seal that was broken by Ganondorfs EVIL powers in the temple of time, then stolen by his followers... just an idea

Yeah, I was looking for a weapon upgrade script, then I thought about using events,
but I haven't been able to figure anything out.

wow, thats alot. I guess the words 'Legend of Zelda" together draw alot of attention.

Anywho, im sure upgrading the master sword in the way they did it in ALttP would be easy, as all it would be is removing the item and replacing it through a conditional branch and several events.

Yeah, I tried that, but then it gives the player a chance to sell or somehow
lose the Master Sword. I don't know why anyone would do that, but it would
still be possible. And I don't want that.

Not if you lock the weapon in the Hero's initial equipment.
It's in the database. Hero section.

Around 10-15.

My game has two main parts: Young Link's quest for the Hylian Crystals
and Adult Link's quest to free the souls of the Sages.

I am starting the first of the Crystal dungeons and stuff.

Going way back, there is an event to change equipment in RMXP... I used one in my RMXP game. Its on page 3 of the events and it says "Changed equipped items".
Not hard to notice. RMXP isn't that inadvanced.
Also, you can upgrade the master Sword through series of events. Once you would be upgraded chnage the equipment to remove the master sword and change equipment to the master sword lv.2 or whatever. Use a switch to show what sword you have. And lastly, why does everyone who uses RMXP rely entirely on scripts. If they find a good script that they want/need, use it.
But I wouldn't say "I wish I could do so & so. Now I'll go look for a script for it because I don't feel like wasting my time on experimenting for about 30 minutes until I make a slightly iffy script using event commands and NO SCRIPT!"
I never use scripts! I have a folder of scripts on my comp, and unless I see an interesting one posted here, nothing is added nor deleted from my folder. I only use scripts if I have them. Maybe if I NEEDED and ABS, I could search for it.
But searching for a ridiculously specific script means you have to DO IT YOURSELF!
Sorry if I sound offending.
But anyway, even with Locked equipment, when you change equipment, you are still locked, but are equipped with a different thing. ANd also, you must add an item to the inventory before you can equip it with event commands.

Meaning this:
<equip> master sword lv.2

Would not work.

But this:
<add item> master sword lv. 2
<equip> master sword lv. 2

Does work.

Understand? Good. Glad to help.

well, let me just say that finding an already scripted ABS is alot easier than eventing one.

Rating for this game:

Storyline: 10/10 (i love zelda!!)
Link Graphics: 10/10 (really good pic of link)
Demo: 11/10 (loved it!)

cant wait for the full game to come out! :D

I frogot to mention-

with this this:
<add item> master sword lv. 2
<equip> master sword lv. 2

You should remove the orignal lv.1 master sword. Now, MoT, obey my help and use it! lol.

LOL Thanks dragonmagna.

Jesse 015, thanks for the compliment you are going to love the demo
way more. Although there is an interesting glitch. When I try to make boss
battles using the ABS, I can't get it to recognize that the monster is dead
and activate a switch or something. I've been experimenting for the last
week so dragonmagna don't get on my case about it. So what I have
decided to do is have all the common enemies work with the ABS, and then
every boss battle will use the default battle system. It works, I've tried
it and it's pretty neat.

Also, as young link, you go on a quest to find the descendant of princess
zelda and the Triforce of Wisdom.

So your going to use the default battles for bosses? That sounds really cool, man! I hadn't thought of that.

And sorry if I sounded a little offending earlier..... :|

*EDIT*
So to make it up to you, I decided to help yo out.
Here are some resources I thought you might want to look at...(not in RMXP format)
Viola! A goron. Maybe not 32 bits like the rest of the game, but I can remix it for you to make it larger and more colors.
Basically to make it fit in with the rest of your game. Only if you want me to help, though.

Also, this may help you with your ABS(I don't really know if you need this)
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv169%2FRPg_Hylian-NL%2FSprites%2Fswordssandbombs.png&hash=2dfaf8b889b5d5fd7f56e259a37892bcc4d05ee3)
I didn't make any of that. Also, those explosions are from MMX.

Also, here are some good enemy sprites if you need them for your ABS.
Yes, they're 8-bits, but I can enlarge them and improve the graphics if you want me to.

Here are some more if you don't like the 8-bit ones.

This might help you, too.

Darunia if you want him....

This would fit into the "bossbattle" category somewhere right?

mmm.... chu chu
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsprites.fireball20xl.com%2FNSA%2FSheets%2Fchuchu.png&hash=554de6cd74660f257e9cd6f35c07a1e5a5372677)

Just thought this would be cool...

And this might come in handy if you decide to have boss battles side-view instead of first person.

Hope I helped you. If I didn't, I don't care because I'm bored anyway.

Yeah, I knows I went to that one place that I always forget what its called, but a lot of the other ones, I just found.

I was really looking for Zoras, but I couldn't find any 2d ones...

Post by: Viper on March 03, 2006, 08:33:28 AM
Dude...it looks fine however I've got one slight problem. You start Link off at LVL 7 and he fights troop monsters (2 always) that take more damage than you can heal. I was only able to get the boss key at the cave before I died...and after using all of the potions. Should lighten up on the damage these monsters inflict, especially at the beginning of the game.

Take for example, I'm fighting two of those wolves. They hit me for at least 150 a piece per turn. I can kill one of them without using a skill on two turns. So do the math...150+150=300 (1 monster dead) 150+150=300 (2nd monster dead) Total damage taken from Link = 600...out of 1,000 something. And if I run into another monster, I need to use a potion right away or I die.

I rarely die in RPGs that are made by professional gaming companies...i.e. Nintendo and the Legend of Zelda. In Ocarina of Time I was able to beat Ganon at the end with only 3 hearts and no losses (after skipping the extra hearts after each boss because I felt like it).

But other than that, it looks pretty good.

All the sages from Oot will be in this game. The main villain is Ganondorf.
Also, I really hate to spoil it so I'll write it really small. If you want to see it,
then quote me or something.

The Hero of Time (AKA Link) from Oot will be in there but Ganondorf kills him.

Master,

1. You need to log in
2. On the top right hand side, you will see a button called "My Page" click on it. That will bring you to the files you have uploaded on their servers.

3. Click on the file you want and it will bring you to the download page.

Heck no! I'm not even a fourth of the way finished.
I'll probably make it two separate games. One game is Young Link's quest.
The second game will be the sequel where you play as Adult Link.

Increasing a games file size by 30+ megs= Too many resources. Why don't you release another one like how you did last time taking away the 10,000 unused resources.

And even if you use all of them, just change them, please. :(
You have a cool game and DIAL-UP users like me DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DOWNLOAD IT!!(I can only be on 30 mins a day...)
Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Sages' Revival [DEMO]
Post by: Master_of_Time on March 13, 2006, 01:36:08 AM
I took out all the resources I wasn't using for the demo.
It could be I made about 40 more maps, an entire dungeon, and some
of the music files I have are WAV files, not MIDI.

Sorry, dude. That's as small as I can make it.

Did you use megaupload and replace the new file with the old one? If so, I can't download it cuz megaupload is being stupid!! And this game is the cool!

And do you mean WAVE files instead of WAV files? Since WAV files arent that big...

@ Dragonmagna: I don't know why it won't work for you. it seems to be
working for everyone else. Although they might be downloading the
wrong one.

@ everyone else: If you're downloading the game on the first page, then
you're DL-ing the wrong one. I think the newest one is somewhere on
page 24.

@HaloOfTheSun or any other mod: Would you mind deleting the first 10
or so pages of this topic? It's getting crowded.

Do you want me to just DELETE those pages? O_o That'll take a LONG time.

I'll do it later if you really want to... but you could just start a new topic too, and I can lock this one so you can find any info you might need.

Let me find the page with the demo. Then I'll start a new thread.
You can go ahead and lock this up, thanks.
