Title: Making Enemies Attack You On Sight
Post by: clakes707 on July 28, 2007, 11:51:10 PM
I need it so that when an enemy sees you, he/she walks towards you, and then battles you. I am not using a ABS, so I need it to just start RPGXP's built-in battle system. Please help me.

I don't know about that, but you can do it when hero steps on a certain spot, an enemy approcahes and enemy encounters you, with switches.

But you probably know about that.

Are you talking about a system like Secret of Mana or Zelda? I am just getting back into using rpg maker so I could be wrong, but couldn't you just set the Parallel process of an NPC to call the movement event: Step Toward Hero? Sorry if I was no help.

Nah, that would make the enemy come to you anytime not on see,
I think you might wanna use something with Variables X and Y or something that would allow the enemy to see you.
Im no expert at hard stuff. i need time to figure this out  ;9

There's a script for this somewhere. I'll go take a look-see.

To do x/y values, you need a constant check of where you are with conditional branches on the map checking if you're on certain places. Then they can approach you (straight line or whatever) and then do battle. Straight line is the best way to do it without scripts.
