Title: How do I allow the player to name the characters?

I mean in a game like Chrono Trigger where you can name them whatever you want, and it stays throughout the game in pretty much every aspect. Is this possible on RPG Maker XP?

There's an event command called "Input Hero Name" or something like that. Just look around for it and you should find it.

Lol, I like the topic titles of the last three links. Anyways, DS! You're being so helpful in the RM forums! ^_^ I'd love to see some of your work. Anyways, yeah. Use the search bar next time and if you can't find it (look through all the pages. Then you can really say "OMFG I DIDN'T FIND IT"), ask. DS included lots of other links to lead off of your name input problem.

I actually thought I was being a bitch on this one.

If you want to see some of my craptacular work, I moved my game into the bone-yard a while beck. On the plus side, I just bought a new couch, it's stunning ^.~

Nah, how were you a bitch in this one? Lol? You gave many topics with answers which answered his question and helped him for the future for things that may come up. You also showed how to use the all-important search bar to get things. OH YEAH! Also, next time, try and test as much as you can out before you search. If you complete the thing, you get a sense of accomplishment.

W00T! COUCH! Mind if I join you? =D! Also, is the boneyard the Abandoned Projects? If so, I'ma go look riiiight.... Not yet... Now.

EDIT: OMFG I FORGOT ABOUT TELLING YOU THIS, PORKUPINE!!!! Post these kind of threads on the Tutorials/Events section.

Now, about Saucy's game... That seems like it would have been a great game... Original playing, good story, but I see that the only problem is that you put way too much soundtracks in there that you made which made it humongous. Lots of screenshots and great mapping in some of them.
