Title: table reader and "growth" stat system
Post by: da good king on July 11, 2007, 12:48:35 AM
i've seen quite s few scripts that read from .txt file tables to seek values, such as that EXP table script which read a characters exp needed/lv. from a .txt file table.

i wish to do the same with values called "growths" (chance a player earns a point/lv. where i type out table or list like:

char. name
HP growth
STR growth
...

or

Arshes
50
70

and RMXP will read that arshes hp growth is 50%, and his STR is 70%.

also, i think there was a topic like this, in which case im sorry and i hope u post the link. but, here it goes: i'm looking for the old Fire Emblem growth system in which each level, rather than gaining an adamant value in a stat, there is chance of what you gain depending on your "growth."

it's completely random, unless u select an option "fixed" which i could just have be switch 001. in which case the stats aren't random, but fixed according to growth and level. plz, im looking for this script right now and i hope somebody can post it. thx.

so what your saying essentially is that you wish to have your level up stats random ...then have it fixed... like strength could be increased by 14 one time for level 2, but if another played it it could be 15 or 12 or some other number for their level 2.  Thats my understanding of your question.

correct...depending on whether a "fixed" growth option is ON or OFF. but yeah, just what you said

hmmm I know you can do something like this with events, since events can increase a stat, but would you really want to do that for all 99 levels? for every character probably not...I'll see what I can find, no promises.
