Title: a picture problem
Post by: Erk64 on July 02, 2007, 01:30:40 AM
I want to set up an event that will display a picture on the screen, and the picture will be continue to be displayed until the player presses the enter button. However, no matter what I try, the picture will never go away. Could someone help me with this?

i think you need to put a Erase Picture event below the Wait until Player presses key.

That would work but you cant let the player know which key very easily, let me "borrow" Land of Shadows resource pack

*looks through
Got it! ok, that part of the event should look like this

Show Picture: (#), (name), upper left, (0,0) (100%, 100%), 255, Normal
Change Text Options: Bottom, Hide
Text: .
Erase Picture: (#)
Change Text Options: Bottom, Show

If you don't understand just ask

Hmm well you could just use a key input processing to store a variable. However that works well with rm2k3 since it has more available buttons. :p

Then all you'd need to do is have a fork condition to erase picture.

Well, I assume you do not want the player to be able to move around?

Like King Anesis suggested:

Show Picture: 1: [<picture you want to show>]
Loop
Button Input Processing [XXX:Check Key]
Conditional Branch: Variable: [XXX:Check Key] == <button code for button you want pressed>
  Erase Picture
  Break Loop
Branch END
