Title: Getting Chests to work

can someone tell me or direct me to how to get a chest to open and give you and item and then stay there open with nothing in it for RPG Maker 2003, i tryed to do what i did in RPG Maker XP but to no pervail (because i can't find the local switchs, i'm sure RPG maker 2003 dosen't have them), if i try haveing them erase, then they repapear when i return, kinda crap if you find the Ultma Weapon

Local switches are also called "Self-Switches." Hope that helped. :P

EDIT: http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,16852.0.html That's an old tutorial I made. You can change some things so that it gives a static reward. Like just 100 gold or something.

Reading the tutorial my signature leads to is also a good idea to read ^_^

I hope you can manage to make a chest after reading the two given tuts

i think i might have confused you at a point on the first post, i can get the chest to work in XP, it's easy to get them done there but i need them for RPG Maker 2003............. now that i think about it, i think i should have put that on the title so like i said, i need the chest to work in RPG Maker 2003

My guess is that you should use a normal switch.
I have never used RPG Maker 2003 so I don't know.

The easiest way is to use a switch when you get the weapon or item, like i open the treasure and i put a switch to turn "GotTreasure103" ON, and on the next page put precondition if "GetTreasure103" ON and leave it blank.
