Post by: PrinceDarkShadow on June 13, 2007, 09:10:20 AM
i just started playing rpg xp, i know how to make a event with run common event, but i cant make the event stop when i reenter map.  What is the easiest way to make it one time use and should i set it as a common event or a event inside the map itself, thanks for any help.

is it a skill to move fast? will you use it more then once? or only on THAT map?

for the first two, use a common event.
for the last a normal one.

and for the re-entering map part, have the place where you enter the map have an event set to HERO TOUCH and set speed back to normal.

Just to reiterate, if it's an event you'll use multiple times, then stick it under Common Events and call on it whenever you need it. If it's something simpler, like a cutscene or whatever that you only want to happen ONCE, then simply place "Change Switch: [Desired switch]=ON" at the end of your event. Then, create a new page with your event and make it nothing. Make it so that the switch you turned on in the first page is required to be on for the second page to be activated by checking the first box on the second page and selecting your desired switch into the label. I hope that helps!

It was a one time event, cutscene.  Thanks that worked.  In the event page (001-999) is that for each even, or is it the combination of all event.  Like if i use 1-5 on first event, on the next event can i use 1-5 again or do i start with 6?  Also im trying to get Text and then movie/animation with the text continuing.  Whats the script/event to have beginning text?  Im using the XP one.

If you're referring to switches, then I can tell you that Switches are universal. If you use 1-5 for one event, then yes, you will need to start with 6 on the next one.

As for the text, you would have to upload pictures of the text you want to appear on the screen and "Show Picture" as part of the event.
