Title: how to make npc's say different things [RESOLVED]
Post by: xeros on June 10, 2007, 07:31:21 AM
what would I do using switches to make a npc say something different each time I talk to them, like if I talk to one of my npc's they say 'help me defeat this monster' and when you talk to them again they say 'please help me!' dose any one know?

One page one of the event, make your event say something like "Help me defeat this monster" as you said. Then insert a Switch Operation and call it whatever you'd like. In this case I'll call it "NPC 001". Make sure it's set as ON.

Then add a page to that event and make it so there's a condition of NPC 001 needing to be on. Then have your event say whatever you'd like for page two.

Hope that helps.

is very easy using variable, just make a Variable Operation, name the variable "random reply" put it random number between 1-2, now next put a branch if Random reply is 1, he'll say "help me defeat this monster" now put another branch if Random reply is 2, he'll say "please help me" and there you go, hope this help ;)

(hmmm.....maybe i should make this on the Tutorial board)
