Title: Dragonforce
Post by: Dwarra? on June 01, 2007, 08:01:31 PM
Quite possibly the best band to ever grace my ears.
Who else likes them?

They're great. Too bad that playing at such high speeds kind of limits what you can play. Still, they're likely the most melodic band that plays that fast.

I'm just not a fan of the vocals. I mean Hermon lee is got some good talent but the vocals make it un headbangable. (if that's a word)

give this song 1.5 mins...(which I doubt anyone will...but anyways I swear you can get into it by the time it hits 1.5 min2)

What? Who headbangs specifically to the vocals? You headbang to the beat, and like every dragonforce song is in 4/4. :\

yeah, but I mean the vocals sorta ruin the feeling.

I've never listen to them before due to the band name, and now I probably won't bother after seeing / hearing that video.

[Edit] Tried the mp3, not really my kinda thing at all.

Dragonforce has one song. They recorded it in different keys, and sold albums of it.

I remember saying that all their songs sound the same in IRC and got flammed insanely.

It's not all the same. It just sounds that way because it's played too fast for your brain to tell them apart.

They do all sound the same. The people that say they don't just haven't ever heard good power metal before, so they think Dragonforce is original.

Don't misunderstand me, Kevin. I don't listen to Dragonforce just on a whim, and I don't listen to it because I think it's the epitome of power metal or whatever.

We listen to it when we play videogames because it gets us pumped up, lol. And that's the only time we listen to it.

So yeah, obviously the "too fast to tell them apart" thing was a joke.

lol, I don't misunderstand you. I think Dragonforce is a good, incredibly fast band. I think a lot of people think they are the only power metal band in the world, though, when there is much better stuff out there. Blind Guardian and Lost Horizon for example.

I've heard good power metal, and hold Dragonforce in higher regards than Blind Guardian, who also tends to have very similar songs, especially in their earlier days.

Even still, after about 10 or 20 minutes of listening to Dragonforce, I feel like I need to take a nap. It's really sort of exhausting. So many high-pitched notes from the guitars and vocals is not easy on the ears.

Not a big fan of 'em. /:

They probably come fifth in my fave bands list :-\
The only bad thing is that their shortest song is still five minutes long
Their longest being almost nine minutes :P
You get my point... they're too long :P

Apart from that... Rock On!

5 minutes is perfect average for how long a song should be. :\

Unless you intend to have it played on the radio, then you have to get it under 3:30.

Dragon force may be fast, but some songs really sucks.

I only like 2 songs, and on is Through The Fire And Flames, but the only reason is because the solo sounds like a NES game :tpg:

The other one is Trail Of Broken Hearts
