Title: [RESOLVED] A Question (RM2K3)
Post by: RedKnight on May 09, 2007, 05:59:08 AM
OK. We have the Hero and let's say, Character 1. Well, suppose I want Character 1 to say something when I talk to him, but later, I want him to say something else, and even later, something else. But I also want him to say something different after the Main Conversation. Like, he tells you what do, then tells you Good Luck or something. Well, how many times can I do this? I.E., is there a Switch/Page Limit?

Simple Make two pages in your event
Make sure both graphics are the same
Then in the second page

(look at the left corner and you
will see something called switch)

check it and set it to person talk 2
Then on the first page make it what you
want him to say on first one.. then
second

if your problem was resolved edit the title to say [resolved] somewhere in it

if it wasn't resolved what i would do is make an event that has the message #1 then turn switch #1 on after the message is completed (btw i suggest naming your switches to you dont lose track) then make a conditional event saying: branch if - switch #1 is on - display message #2, turn switch #2 on, end event processing

then the same for message #3

switches stay on for the whole game unless you turn them off so you can do something near the beginning that changes something in the end

P.S. the switches have to be in a certain order for them to work highest number switch near the top lowest near the bottom conditional events will only work if the condition is apperant so if the switch is turned on the event will work, if not it will sit there useless

hmm for some reason i cant get the image fully blown up so you will have to click on it

the image is for RMXP but the events are the same copy what i have done and i garuntee it will work
