I'm sure you've heard about it on the news by now, but if you havent, here's a quick summary:
For the past four months, There has been outrage amongst muslims over cartoons of their prophet mohammed published in a Danish newspaper.
Things came to a head over the past week. In Gaza City, Palestinian gunmen took over an EU office to protest the cartoons:

The middle eastern people have very little value for human life... I saw a video last night of them and they had an American solider tied between two trucks by the wrists, then the trucks drove in seperate directions and pulled his arm off... To find these cartoons offencive is an odd... They are well drawn... And they depict some ones opinions... If I was to draw what I think it would be much worst... Especially as in England we have had Muslim Cleric's in the street preaching and asking other Muslims to rise up and take the country and kill as many English poeple as they can...
And then one Muslim supporter of the celric even came on TV in his defence and said the flag of Islam will one day fly over downing street or westminster (Can't remember which)...
How is it that cartoons can upset people more than threats against the way of life of a nation...???
Oh and when the twin towers fell... they showed people in the middle east celebrating... To be honest I think those cartoons will upset some people not not half as much as those TV images around such a difficult time...

I don't get why they got offended. Those cartoons weren't really mean. The only one that was funny was the 'we're out of virgins' one. Seriously they're over reacting. Just suck it up, some people will always criticize religions of others (A good example is my over catholic family nagging me about being pagan).
Compared to some things on newgrounds, those cartoons are tastefull. One I can think of is a flash of jesus and mohammed boxing, and jesus knocks out mohammed. Now that I could understand to be considered offensive... But those twelve cartoonns. No, they aren't bad.

Honestly, I do not know too much about the Muslim religion. However for those who can deem it to be the "most violent" religion, are completely mistaken. Take the the religious war that had been raging in Ireland for as long as I remember. That was based on disagreeances on two party's religious preferences.
Or back in the medieval ages between the Roman Catholics and the Celts. All was well until shortly afterwards it became a war between the two because the Catholics had considered the Celts to be blasphemous. So in response the Catholic church attempted to convert the Celts (Druids) and if they didn't comply they were either slaughtered, hung or burned. Thousands of Celts were murdered in the name of religion.
What would you do in the same instances if someone defaces your "god" or "prophet" that you hold in the highest respect? Of course people are going to be angry and retaliate. Maybe not in the same respect but everyone has their own ways of expressing distress or anger.

Blue....another thing. Women do not get a shorter time in army. U.S. Army enlistment is 4 years regardless of gender. You go to MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) when you first are interested and select a job based on your ASVAB score (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). This goes for all genders...except women are restricted to non-infantry type MOS's (Military Occupational Specialty). So they cannot be over in Iraq with foot soldiers.
As far as boot camp, no they do not get it easier in boot camp. Everyone goes through the same training...once again...regardless of gender. Speaking from personal experience when I was a soldier we all got gassed, got to throw hand grenades and shoot live rounds from an assault rifle.

I say that: sure, the cartoons may have been offensive and perhaps a little low, but never justifies the violence? Then again, it is difficult to merely accept what one perceives as abuse and do nothing about it when violence is your only outlet.
I remember drawing mockery cartoons of friends. They are not designated to be offensive but funny. They would be crude and highlight the funny characteristics of them. Of course, this would be returned with a punch. This isn't on the same scale of seriousity. Did I have the right to draw/free speech to be amused by traits of people? I can accept funny drawings of myself.
I remember on gamefaqs after being attacked by flamers after questioning their ego. I drew a flash animation summarising their opinions. Same thing.
I hope I don't sound like I'm on my moral fence or whatever it is called, this type of argument I classify as "stalemate", who really is in the wrong or right? Different people believing different things and ideologies, who shall give in?

I know that making fun of other religions isn't really right, but Jesus and other religious figures have been made fun of for years and years. Also, there is the right to freedom of speech, etc. so I think that although they overreacted, religious cartoons themselves are offensive.
nouman is right, our religion clearly states we're not supposed to draw pictures of our prophets. Muslims have been abiding the koran for hundreds of years, and we're not gonna tolerate people who try to provoke this. I respect almost every religion there is. I think we deserve the same respect, and if you guys dont learn, we're gonna make you learn. I am not the authority of the gunmen's actions, they abide the koran too, they'll do anything to enforce it. Heck, i dont worship statues of religious figures, and im not forcing any of you guys too.
