Go ahead and start a new map, mine is 60x60. Fill the first layer with grass, then add some different color grass, and dirt.

Step Three:
Go ahead and make the outline of the first floor of the fort. Using these tiles.
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh296%2FJalkson%2FRMXP%2FFort%2520Tutorial%2FFortTutorial-ex1.jpg&hash=5aa8e57318bb758578c0c99cca55d8b26f2b03d8)
It should look something like this.

Step Four:
Let's fill in the corner squares, and put the floor. Use these tiles for the corners.
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh296%2FJalkson%2FRMXP%2FFort%2520Tutorial%2FFortTutorial-Corner.jpg&hash=55186847b7c6343857a4bd8a5de8d61c347305b4)
Now, this is a little tricky at first, for these areas:
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh296%2FJalkson%2FRMXP%2FFort%2520Tutorial%2FFortTutorial-4-2.jpg&hash=c8c5111489a1e4241cfcdbc2f1cc0b91aa38ea10)
You need to use these tiles.
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh296%2FJalkson%2FRMXP%2FFort%2520Tutorial%2FFortTutorial-ex12.jpg&hash=8723c2ea78f60c674595c848f2c5d4db4bb18be9)
Now it should look something like this.

Step Five:
Let's add some walls, and layers to the fort next. Now it's starting to come together.
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh296%2FJalkson%2FRMXP%2FFort%2520Tutorial%2FFortTutorial-5.jpg&hash=3d4dbbc8466828f54434f7ed53551d552c5085ca)
Step Six:
Now we add some the items around the fort. Some trees/plants, and a little water. This is what we have.
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh296%2FJalkson%2FRMXP%2FFort%2520Tutorial%2FFortTutorial-6.jpg&hash=4034c5611f3331ab3ba7ae60409d923da61cfb4b)
This is how it looks ingame.

Don't forget to add events. Doors can be found in there. Sorry if this is a bit sloppy, I was in a bit of a hurry. I am planning to do an interior tutorial next.
Comments/feedback are always welcome.
pretty nice, but you forgot to change sizes in walls. all your walls are 2 squares each, remember to vary these.
Thanks for the reminder.
Wow that's good.
Awesome tutorial, maybe the flag things are abit too overused?
Offtopic; Are you using Windows XP, if so what skin is that?
