What game is the worst game you have ever played? Wish it never was? Well, I am working on a list of horrible games to protect others. Here is the list thus far...
E.T.
Almost any game based off of a movie (Exception-Spiderman 2)
Burger King games
FF-X
FF-X2
Halo
Goldeneye: Rouge Agent
Olympic Games
Sigma Star Saga
Any Barbie game
Singstar
Any Rugrats game
Formula 1 Racing Games
Jo Jo's Bizzare Adventure
Super Mario Sunshine- I don't agree. Just listing it.
Legend of Zelda: Wand of Gamalon
Carmageddon
And last and DEFINATLY least...
SUPER MAN 64
NOTE: Even if you don't think a game should be wiped from history, just tell us the worst game you have played.
EDIT: Bigger list. [6/9/07]
E.T. It was very, very, very bad.
Almost all and any game based off of a movie(and Burger King). It just never comes out right sometimes. They should keep advertisements to commercial, press conferences, posters, etc.
Any and pretty much all videogames spawned from movies.
no game should not exist. Without those hella bad games, we would 1. have nothing to compare GOOD games to, and 2., we couldnt learn from any mistakes
Yeah, but your avatar is an example of one of those wonderfully bad games. Not one that should be wiped from the face of history.
FFX~
Halo. As much as I like multiplayer, it lowered standards for FPS innovation more than they were before. If only more companies had taken a cue from Riddick...
Have you completed Halo? I never played it for ages but finally got the PC version and I love it <3.
The last level of halo 1 in the warthog was great. Halo, I think, is a good fps, but I think most of them are good. It's nothing special.
I've completed Halo, and Halo II. They were kind of fun at the time, but too many games after tried to emulate Halo instead of being something of their own. And Halo 1's level design was just lazy for the most part.
The only thing I have ever played Halo-wise is Halo 2's multiplayer. I thought it was fun. But I have heard that the multiplayer is better than the single-player.
Much better, and the best level design, I think, would be Ravenholm, in hl2.
The level-design in Halo was pretty poor. But everyone imitating that game afterwards is pretty much what happened after GoldenEye was released, so it's nothing new.
And I'm gonna go with Saucy and say FFX.
Any reasons why FFX? I played it and I kinda like it. I think FFX-2 is beyond stupid.
the remake of goldeneye, proof that EA cant give life to a franchise they dont deserve
who ever says games from movies should die are stupid, Spider-Man 2 is a prime example of an awesome game from a movie. I still play that game, almost everyday. The web swinging is amazing and I love it.
what game should die? I think...the Olympic games, omfg they are retarded.
Spider-Man 2 doesn't count, since essentially the movie is a remake of the comic book.

Pretty much, not all. Spiderman 2 is a good game.
Yeah, Spiderman 2 is an exception to the rule.

Spider man was originally a comic book. Therefore it was never a movie to begin with.
I'd have to go with Sigma Star Saga. It was WAY to frustrating.

I came into this thread to say this.
< Agrees with Zypher and Dante
I disagree with all three. E.T. contributed heavily to the destruction of the Atari console. Who knows? Were it not for that game, Atari might still be making consoles.
Yeah, but so what? Everything falls into place as it should. If it weren't for the steaming turd that is that game and its relation to the downfall of Atari, people wouldn't have learned a lesson from it.
The Halo series would be better off not existing

Like I said...
I would say most movie games.
Alright, so here is a summary...
Games based on movies are usually bad, with a few exceptions.
The Halo games are only good for their multiplayer.
E.T. was horrible.
But some believe that if we didn't have bad games, we wouldn't of have learned from our past mistakes.
Did I get everything?
No, you forgot the part where you put "would of" in the thread title.

Eh? What do you mean?
I think he is making a comment that "would've" stands for "would have", not "would of". It's completely irrelevant to your summary, but maybe he felt it was a good opportunity to mention it.
That probably sounds somewhat spiteful or aggressive, but it wasn't meant to be. :mex:
Oh, a grammar mistake. And I forgot something...

Need to add this to a list. I'm gonna make a list in the first post of games that are bad.
Mario Sunshine. The game itself was not great (I can't PUNCH?! AUAGAGGAHH!) , and it tainted every mario game afterwards with dancing singing obese plant men in tutus. Imagine if they'd just made goddamn mario 128 instead. Really imagine. do it now.
:bean:
hmm ahum:
singstar and all variations
any rugrats game
any formula 1 racing game "multi colored car round repetitive tarmac yay"
jo jo's bizare adventure so i can get "WRYYYYYYY" out of my head
anygame that you can complete before you understand the controls
Quote from: Holkeye on April 23, 2007, 07:08:48 AM

That game is amazing, I wish all movie games were that good.
The legend of Zelda: Wand of Gamelon
who benefits or was improved by the that game? Can it be an exception to the rule?
Halo is a great series. I wouldn't blame it for the "lack of innovation" in recent FPSs, because that's just stupid. As any Wii fan who doesn't like a game's graphic will tell you, "Don't blame Nintendo, blame lazy developers."
At any rate, I don't think any game should "never have existed." We all learn from our mistakes, right? Bad games and harsh criticism are needed for classics to be born.
Golden Eye Rogue Agent multiplayer was fun, the story sucked so bad, the approach.... :djang:
But here's my list:
Any third person 007 game.
Halo (way to over rated, both)
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy Online
Manhunt
Madden games
Mortal Kombat (After the first two it got so overrated and it sucked)
Virtual Fighter (All after 3)
Warcraft III
Ice Wind Dale I&II
Need For Speed (every. single. one. sucks. hairy. balls.)
Zelda CDI (Is that what it's called?)
Zelda II
Quake III Arena
Any Microsoft Game
Night Club I, II & III
Pokemon Chanel
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire

There are games that shouldn't exist, and if we just made better games to begin with *cough*
like microsoft needs to*cough* we wouldn't need to learn from our mistakes.
Anyway, that ends my rant, I'm going to make my playlist! ;8
My thoughts' on Mexneto's list:
Any third person 007 game. - It was okay
Halo (way to over rated, both)- It was great, people who like FPS would love it
Final Fantasy VII- Shut up, this game is great.
Final Fantasy Online - I never played
Manhunt - LOL
Madden games - Shut the hell up loser, these are amazing games
Mortal Kombat (After the first two it got so overrated and it sucked) - I serioulsy want to hurt you, these games are pro
Virtual Fighter (All after 3)- I agree
Warcraft III - Never Played
Ice Wind Dale I&II - Never Played
Need For Speed (every. single. one. sucks. hairy. balls.)- Shut the f***** hell up moron. Seriously this is the best racing game ever. I love these games.

Zelda II - I agree
Quake III Arena - Never Played
Any Microsoft Game- Controversial
Night Club I, II & III- Never Played

Not to flame, but Need for Speed was terrible the newer ones are much better, but I still don't like them as much as Grand Turismo II, III and IV, those games rock!
And Halo, the halo games suck, there are so many other great FPS games out there, well, they don't suck, but there's so many better FPS: Quake II, UT 2K3, 2K4, Unreal II, Time Splitters II and Unreal, Halo for PC was alot better than xbox, and Halo 2 was a big improvement, but screw microsoft on releasing it for vista.
Madden: There are so many of these retarded games, the only different is that Madden has gotten fatter. FIFA is up there too, but atleast that's actually fun, I like the hockey ones more.
Mortal Kombat: The games can be fun, but very repetitive, Tekkan and Street Fighter or Campcom vs. ___ all rock, not to mention the great arcade fighters. Geeze, those games make Mortal Kombat look like a piece of dog shit.
Mortal Kombat 2 was my fav MK game, and it rocked, and still does, but the new ones, ehh...
Final Fantasy VII: The game is sickening. It doesn't live up to the former SNES ones, now, Final Fantasy IX is a gem, that game rocks.
games that should not exist hmmm im gonna agree and say halo killzone is way better
Your list fails, because to put Madden and Icewind Dale on there is just ignorant. Both of these series were revolutionary. I don't even like sports games and I know that.
I was never a fan of the Yu Gi Oh TCG video games...
But I loved Halo. Halo 2 wasn't as good as it should have been, but Halo was awesome.
It didn't lower standards, it raised them so high, that the only things developers at the times could do was emulate Halo. It did the same thing for the Xbox that Deus Ex did for the computer.
Also, to say that Halo 1's level design was poor is IMO ignorant as well. Halo didn't have levels so-to-speak. It was a constant, unchanging world. It's a small artificial planet, it's already as complex as it can get. They weren't trying to make an adventure game, they were making an FPS. If you pay any attention, you can see influences from past wars on the design of some of the areas. Except maybe, the hangers, etc.

Don't try to sugar coat a turd. The Archives level was the same corridor repeated about 8 times, and the last level was a cheap "race the warthog to the end" copout.

That's about the lamest thing someone can say, especially for someone who is trying to make games himself. Do you honestly think that a good FPS has no adventure-like qualities to it?
Halo's level design was just bland. People were blind to it for some reason that I might not ever understand. I think it's because multi-player was so damn fun, that it didn't even matter.
Not really. I've never played halo's multiplayer, but I love playing the single player story through over and over <3.
The levels are kind of bland, but when the forerunners built the ring, I don't think they were aiming for a theme park =o
In other words, realistic :)
That's a cop out too. The forerunners didn't build it, Bungie did.
I'm late but I'm gonna put my say in on this list...
Any third person 007 game.- AGREED
Halo (way to over rated, both)- SORTA AGREED (I didn't really play them much)
Final Fantasy VII- It was a little overrated but it was a good game.
Final Fantasy Online- 2 months ago my friend got it... 2 months ago my friend got rid of it.
Manhunt- Don't know
Madden games- Sorta agreed (For sports fans, they are good. I am not a sports fan)
Mortal Kombat (After the first two it got so overrated and it sucked)- Not sure...
Virtual Fighter (All after 3)- Not sure...
Warcraft III- Not sure...
Ice Wind Dale I&II- Not sure..
Need For Speed (every. single. one. sucks. hairy. balls.)- Not all of them sucked. Some were great.
Zelda CDI (Is that what it's called?)- YES
Zelda II- Yeah.
Quake III Arena- Don't know...
Any Microsoft Game- Maybe not all of them....
Night Club I, II & III- the first one was pretty good, but after that....
Pokemon Chanel- Wouldn't know...
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire- I wish I knew...
Alright, Here is my personal opinion on Halo..
There is no perfect game. Only really good ones. Every game has its downfalls. And I guess the level design was the downfall of Halo. Everything else in it is great.
Hmm... I get a feeling a war might start soon...
A war over Halo is probably the lamest thing I've ever heard. I'm just stating the fact that the levels in Halo were repetitive.

Yeah, they were, I loved playing multiplayer with my brother and his friends, we had 18 players, up till 2 o'clock from like eight...
But, I loved the sticky grenades and the small purple ship map.

superman 64 LOLLL.
summoner and summoner 2. ouch.(PS2)
many pokemon games. too much IS TOO MUCH. i played it till 150. i barely played silver(250) and that was too much. i dont even know how many pkmns now. 450? 350? omfg...
Having ownd the Superman 64 game, i'd definatly say that was the worst take on a super hero since that realy old 2d siderman/ x-men game
yayyy something else is agreeing with me. bur yea superman64 was THE BADDEST GAME. carmageddon was sad as well =/
Ever play resi for an n64? You need to hold down like eight buttons to pull out a weapon its soo gay!
I don't care if you have to hold down 20 fucking buttons, buy an extra controller, cook a pie, and drive a car to the hospital to perform an abortion, RE will always be a great series.
I like resi, like the enw one for wii, im just saying that game was pretty fucking terrable.
The new (one of the new) resident evils for Wii is a rail shooter, it looks pretty cool.
you know there hasn't been a resident evil game that has made me say im buying that cause it looks insane mainly i just rather not have a zombie come at me trying to bite me..... :hammer:

I quit after not being able to beat like the level before the bowser levels...
Then I had to give it back to my friend.
haha i found a funny looking trick get yoshi and make him eat a pinnapple then tilt ur up camera so that u cant see yoshi and let her rip it looks like mario is taking an air wiz. :tpg:
I beat that game ;8
Super Mario Sunshine was awesome, except the "SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE...WOOHOOOOO" at the press start screen. :tpg:
Worst game I have ever played is Body Harvest for N64, dammit that sucked hard, buggy AND going 10FPS? no thx.
Codename Outbreak. That really is a mistake in the fps business. It even was bad if it was released in 1980. The graphics suck the worst i've ever seen, those weapens are so so hard to swap, how you say? Because you only have 12 weapon! You must swap you bullets! After 2 lvls i (really) threw it away, that @!F%43@1#@#%!@@!@ piece of shit! They should kill the maker of it! Gamespot gives it a 5.4, but believe me, that's much to high...
As soon as I saw Superman 64 I had to take a potty break. I saw one screen of it...omg...how did they screw it up THAT BAD, ITS FREAKING SUPERMAN, WTF...

Summoner 2 and big rigs.
EVO on the ps1 oh how i hate that game. OH GOD IT ANNOYED ME EVERY TIME I LOOKED AT IT. I honestly smashed that game to pieces
Wave Race 64. I always hear people talk about how awesome this game was. I cannot see why. I had Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit as well and thought it was shit.
I had that Spiderman/X-Men game someone mentioned earlier. I could never get past the first level. Of course, I was, like, eight at the time.
So far as movie games go, one of my favorite games ever is a movie game. The Warriors for the win. The problem with movie games, as I see it, is that the reason most of them are made is so that they can tie-in with a new release in order to cash in on the PR at the time. Rockstar owned the rights to make a game based on the movie for years before they actually did it. (I think I read somewhere that it is the favorite movie of a lot of the heads there.)
