Title: Merging Two Games?
Post by: Legendary on April 15, 2007, 01:37:11 AM
I'm really new, and I didn't see anything on the first couple of pages, so I thought I'd ask. Is it possible to make a script that can read data in one game and input it into another? Get level data, item list, etc. from the old game, but allow me to clear room for new maps and enemies?

Thanks.

You don't need a script. You just need to open both projects and copy and paste... -_- It's tedious. I don't even think this can be done in scripts.

I may be worng but, I think he means that you can bring your stats from the other game into the next game

Ohh.... Lol. I think I remember seeing this before somewhere... I think... I think it was talked about on the ZenoSoft forums. Not sure. I'm  80% sure this exists, though.

-.- you DOn't Need a Script for that...just make a Copy of the Same Game, delete all the Maps, Events and Switches (Don't delete the Ones your planning to use in the 2nd Game thou)

Don't change anything in the database...And Make sure when the Game ends, to ask the Player to Save the Game, leave it in a Map that Youy WILL Re-Use in the 2nd Game. In the 2nd one, you just need to make it so the character teleports to the New Map.

All the Player needs is his Save file of the 1st Game and adds to the folder of the 2nd Game...that's all. =/

Um... That could work. I just hope that I don't run out of Enemy Slots, which was my other problem. Thanks!

you can increase the slots... all you have to do is change the array size in the bottom left corner of the database on the monster/ monster group screens..

Wow, so thats how you make this kind of thing, where you get the items and such.
What about if I want to reset weapons and delete the weaker ones, add new characters and delevel everyone to 10 with skills from the old game?
And delete old monsters/troops that I wont use for new and stronger monsters?
