In my school, we have had a serious debate on the behalf of Pluto being a planet or a moon. What do the people of this forum beleive.
I believe Pluto is a planet. Astronomers have said that a planet is:
"A body less massive than a star, yet having enough gravity to shape itself in a spherical shape"
PLUTO IS A SPHERE!!! It also is nowhere near the size of the sun, A STAR. It isn't een the size of a dwarf star. Thus, proving my opinion. What do you think?
I have no idea how it could be classified as a moon, but it is not a planet anymore because of it's size, pluto was most likely an asteriod that was thrown in from the outer belt, and if they kept pluto as a planet, than three more asteriods would also have to be planets. Pluto=asteriod.
I agree completely with Bio.
I like Pluto... >:( I'm very very mad that they renamed it a dwarf planet. DAMN THEM! I'll get them back for that!
... ôO'?
Pluto ISN'T a planet... because it isn't turning around the sun.
That's all.
The IAU put this debate to rest a few months ago.
Actually Samael, Pluto does revolve around the Sun.
The point is, it doesn't revolve around another planet so it isn't a moon. It's just a big ball of ice that astronomers mistaked for a planet long ago.
Yeah, there is really no debate here..
You quoted me?! I'M SO PROUD :D
