OK, I now know how to make events stop (Many thanks to Lavata), but is there a way to change them? Like, someone says something to you, cut scene or NPC wise, but can you make it so they say something different afterwards for the rest of the game whenever you talk to them? This is for RM2K3 by the way.
use a switch, turn it on
then use a conditional to see if it is on or not
if it is on, they say one thing
turn it off at some point
if it is off, they say something else
hope that helps ya
Ummmm...Could you please explain that a little better? I just learned how to use a switch recently.
ok, here it is step by step.
1) create your event.
2) Conditional Branch (pk version) or Forks Condition (enterbrain)
3) Select a switch for a condition, and name it TalkA or something
4) if TalkA is true, Message "Blah" (make sure there is an else handler!!!)
5) else Message "Meh"
6) somewhere in the game, or in the event, Turn off TalkA so that the second message is played
I don't get it. I did what you told me, but they don't say the first thing at all. Just the thing under "Else". I made them say something under branch, then else, then under end, I used Switch Conditions and turned off the switch that started the branch, but they only said the thing under Else.
have you set the switch TalkA to true anywhere?
because all switches are default set to False
True? False? What do you mean?
Switches can be either On or Off (I sometimes mess up and call them True or False, I'm used to Booleans from java and stuff)
Oh. Then yes. It was...Oh. It was on to start the branch. Oops.
yup, glad I could help
if your problem is solved, edit your first post's title and add [RESOLVED]
(you can also lock the thread if you wish)
I know to put resolved. But going back to the main topic, Thanks for your assistance. I appreciate it. I'm going to credit you in my game for this. Also, I'd rather not lock it. I might wanna come back here for reference in case I forget.
alright, cool, and you are very welcome for the assistance.
