Err the ghosts are a little odd...

Try these:-

(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.localarcade.com%2Farcade_art%2Fdata%2Fthumbnails%2F1%2FPacMan1.gif&hash=a168fbbbdbf7339ecbb8f06427ef11039f938100)

Here's the Ghosts names:-

i cant realy use those ghosts/pacman because its all in one sprite set.
Title: Re: Pac Man's Adventure Home
Post by: ataraxy2 on April 03, 2007, 11:49:40 AM
Replace the ghosts in the sprite set with the new ghosts. Keep it transparent though.
Title: Re: Pac Man's Adventure Home
Post by: landofshadows on April 03, 2007, 11:59:36 AM
Quotei cant realy use those ghosts/pacman because its all in one sprite set.

Just export a Sprite set from RPG Maker XP, take it into a paint package and relpace bits... Resize the ghosts and so fourth... It's simple.

Great idea though.
Title: Re: Pac Man's Adventure Home
Post by: fadark on April 03, 2007, 08:18:50 PM
so your saying i should:
take the ghost sprites that i currently have in the game, and put them in paint, then replace some of the pixles with the ones that you gave me, (but not the whole ghost)

is that it?
Title: Re: Pac Man's Adventure Home
Post by: Forty on April 04, 2007, 07:18:31 PM
Copy and paste the new ghost on top of the old ghosts. Then erase extra spots. Thats how I would do it, just saying.
Title: Re: Pac Man's Adventure Home
Post by: fadark on April 04, 2007, 08:52:44 PM
but then the little squigly line (at the bottem of the ghosts) would never change until it changes the direction that it's moving in.

lol, i got really freaked out when i turned on my computer and i saw the desktop shortcut for my game (pacman's adenture home) but it was cut off so it looked like this:

and next to it was a folder with all of the 'children' rmxp sprites that i found on the internet. so it looked like this:

ya that'd be great if you can do that! for all of the  normal 4 ghosts, only keep the same except the color. but for the small ghost: just make it a small version of the normal ghosts. if you can make the small ghosts all 4 colors, that would be good too. the white and black ghost: make the quality like the other 4 ghosts too, but keep the color.

if thats a bit confusing, i made a blueprint (but you can always change your mind about helping me):

(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft284%2Ffadarkrmxp%2F4ghosties.jpg&hash=4fad3e7ba016145ad389b30aaef21fdbbe462733) = change all 4 of these to better quality but keep the colors

(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft284%2Ffadarkrmxp%2Flittleghosts-1.jpg&hash=e4c17ab00844623c309ae992b881cda8e270d2aa) = keep the size, but make 4 of these (1 of each color) and make them the quality as what you are doing for the normal 4

(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft284%2Ffadarkrmxp%2Fbossghosty.jpg&hash=265bb9a4ddc0f6f8549569df474e1282e20d5b1b) = keep the color but upgarde the quality like you are doing for the 4 normal ghosts.

thanks in advance!

yay!

level 9x is done! if there is an "x" next to the level number it means it's a side quest.

the frist side quest is done! yay! but to play the side quest, you must beat level 9 in 30 seconds or less. uh-oh! you better get practicing if you got the beta/demo becasue its not easy! but i did it, so its possable. i hope you are all excited!

[edit]
chapter 17x is done also now

the new ghosts are kinda blury in game. maybe you could make a very thin black outline on all of them to fix that. and can you change the red ghost into a green ghost? thanks if you help! ;)

can you change the hue on blue and orange so they're darker? i dont know how to change their hue without changing their eye color too. thanks if you help! ;) :D ;D :) 8)

[edit #2]
if you choose to:

then can you put all of the finished ghosts into 1 final file attached to a post (as apposed to having the small ghosts in 1 file and the big ones in a another, etc.)

thanks in advance if you help me! (again!)

No, you don't.

You should add some stuff to the game.

Here are a few hints:

When you go outside, have a text event say:

"There's nothing much to do here...why not try the on the roof?" Or something...
And when on the roof:
"Press space bar to start the first level"
Or something along those lines.

  • what did you do to the pie?
  • i hope you dont take this as an insult: i think ill still use the Pacberries that i made
  • nice edits to the ghosts! i like them! ill edit the hue a bit on a couple of them becasue i think their colors are to light, but you did a great job on it! thanks!
  • what's the one that is named "Ghost"? its just all of them together. ???
  • can you edit this one too?

if you look closly: the one that looks like it only has eyes and a mouth is actualy slightly different that the backround so it will turn out white in the game.
  • and can you edit this one too?
    (https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi163.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ft284%2Ffadarkrmxp%2Flittleghosts.jpg&hash=3d7d1f1872b41c6b04dce30a4889b79b50bcce05)
i want this size to stay the same, but after you edit them so they are the same quality as the others: can you make them is all 4 colors too?

thanks! i hope you dont feel like im pushing you too hard.

You can use your normal pie/pacbags. That's fine, I made that "character" for some of my own levels. Yeah the colour was annoying, mainly because resizing some ruined the image (like pink for instance). It's bearable but feel free to fix them.

I may do the boss ghost shouldn't take too long. You should be able to do the little ones, resize them and fit them onto the 4by4 "template" that RPGM uses.

if you choose to:

  • make the small orange, blue, green, and pink ghosts
  • change the hue on the blue and orange one so they are darker
  • change the orange one so it is orange, not yellow
  • change the red ghost into a green ghost
  • make thin a black outline around all of the ghosts so they are not blury in game
  • and tell me what you did to the pacpie, and tell me what the multi-colored ghost is for

then can you put all of the finished ghosts into 1 final file attached to a post (as apposed to having the small ghosts in 1 file and the big ones in a another, etc.)

Changing the red ghost to a green ghost... change the hue, replace the eyes to be blue - easy usually. I'll do that. They are kinda blurry - I kind of liked that... probably do the line anyway.

I won't make the small ones... I'll probably mess them up. I'll change yellow to orange, light blue to dark blue, red to green. The pacpie/ghost files are just extra things that were in the same folder.

Where did you learn? I need to learn, I'm bored with Python and might just learn RGSS.

Please PM the link, if you can!  :D

Also, double posting isn't considered a crime, it's just bumping when not needed, it also drains the other topics down. And for other things too I assume.

You can just edit your last post telling about the update, also, this works well, too.  ;)
Edit the first post and then edit the title and say that you have a new update.

I tried playing but it requires the RTP. You should offer a demo to those who don't have RMXP.

It seems that "guy that need help" is actually an attempt from Fadark to receive help, since allot of members hate him. Bumping his thread with compliments only gave away his plan. :police:

He's very annoying sometimes, yet he's cool. He's sort of like you!  :=:

Quotedupe account?
guy that need help is my little brother. he's 13 years old. he looks up to me.
my mom and dad live in different houses (but are still married). my bro's name is Seth (btw, im Josh).
we are at different houses at different times. and there is a computer with internet access at both houses.
(i put it in a script format just for the heck of it) this is how it works:
when: month [#1] - [Josh = mom's house | Seth = dad's house]
when: month [#2] - [Josh + Seth = dad's house]
  when: month [#3] - [Josh + Seth = mom's house]
   when: month [#4] - [Josh = dad's house | Seth = mom's house]
    when: month [#5] - [Josh = mom's house | Seth = dad's house]

end

Repeat = True #repeat every five months
end
end

so he might have posted that to let me know what he thought of the game (while we were at different houses)

This game is actually fun. I can't wait to play the final version.

Although the sprites are a little off, the gameplay and interface is great.

Title: Re: Pac Man's Adventure Home (open beta/demo test, 40% complete)
Post by: fadark on May 23, 2007, 08:38:34 PM
yes, but onnly for levels 26-30 (for now, at least). im gonna send it to Mexentoso he can give it and when he's done (wheather he gets all 5 levels done or if he just does some..... or none) he'll send it to me and ill take a look, if its nice, ill send that version to Irgna, if Mexento didn't do so ell, ill send my current version to Irgna.
i wanted levels 26-30 to be "obtical corses". no ghosts (maybe 1 ghost on a level or 2). you can learn how levels should work by looking at previous levels. and also, please try to fix level 26! i can't.

things to follow:
- don't upload anything.
- don't change anything that is levels 25 - start of game.
- please test all of the levels after you make them to make sure that the required amount of points needed in not to high or low.

- all of these rules can be broken with my permission.

is that okay with you guys?

Never mind! ;)
i decided to do level 26 a different way. now im back on track, and just finished level 27! ;D

i will still only be doing about 1 level per 2 days (or so) though. because i need to catch up on school work (sorry). but it should be done by july 1st!
yay!

im very exited about how well the cave levels are! :D (levels 26-30) and i've decided to put less pacfood in each level to reduce lag (the game is alot more fun with less lag). and it makes the game more simple. but to make up for the simplness, i have to strategically make the maps hard, so the game isn't too easy.
the "map challenge" + the simplness of the game + the less lag = very very fun game! ;D

so in the final version (when this game is done), if you play it, and think it's fun, but not that fun: tell me (in a pm), and ill tell you how to activate a cheat to automaticly go to level 20 (which is when the game gets awesome!

ps. here is a screenshot of level 27:

i hope you are all exited!
