Before you upload your game or send it to anyone, how to you encrypt the data so that they cannon go back and change anything? I don't really want people to cheat, or worse yet steal my game by attaching their name to it just because it wasn't encrypted. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks!
open your game, go to file-CompressGameData-cehck the box that says create encrypted archive.
Really? It that it? That's rather...simple. Thanks!
By the way, someone once told me that by rearranging the game files, you can make it so people who down own RPG Maker XP (or the demo) will be able to run the game. Do you know anything about that? They weren't very detailed on their instructions. They said...
"If your RPG uses any of the default crap that came with RMXP, then I suggest you copy the files that are used in the game, to the game files. It makes it so you don't have to have RMXP just to play it."
Can anyone elaborate on that?
Kind of. I don't know how clear I can be though, but I'll try.
Basically, the game comes with RTP, so all of the default graphics, charsets, etc are contained within the RTP. When you make a new game, your game can access the RTP without actually having all of the graphics and songs, etc... in their game folder. If you want to make it so somebody without the RTP can play it, you need to give them all the files that are in the RTP that you use in your game, so you need to copy those graphics and put them into your folder as well. Example:
You use the Arshes battler. This graphic is saved in the RTP file, it is not saved in your game folder. But, if you save it into your game folder, then the game will access the graphic from your game folder instead of the RTP. Therefore, sharing your game folder would be enough for someone to play your game, because everything you use is contained within it and they don't need any extraneous resources.
Thank you! That makes perfect sense! This should be a lot of help...much appreciated!
