Ok first of all I wanna say that I'm a bit of a noob. Im on my first game to be exact. I have manageed to work out quite a bit but im stumped on a few things.
I have checked the boards before I wrote this but I cant find the answers to either of my questions. Im using RPG Maker XP.
1- I'm aware of the correct sizes for the tile sets and the correct format. I have made my own tile sets but my prob comes when I try import them. I save them in the correct folder with all the other tilesets and even number them to keep it all neat. But when I go to use them in the game they're not there to select. The only way I have found is to save over the default tilesets using the name given to that set. Is there another way as I dont want to save over the few premade sets that are on there?
2- When saving my tile sets, tiles on photo shop as a png image it asks me if I want it interlaced? Well do I??
I hope someone out there will help me. It seems like a friendly community and I hope one day I'll be able to contribute myself.
Many Thanks.
See, you're tilesets maybe like(in the database)
56: Desert
57: Town
58: blank..
k now go to 58, and there will be blank boxes to its right (normally they're filled with tilesets there) choose a tileset from THERE, and do all the passabilty/non passability stuff.
I HOPE YOU GOT IT @_@
I'm uploadin a pic in sometime to help you too
And unless you dont gimme the meaning of interlaced, i cant help you in the second one ;-;
edit: Okay i have dialup, and rmxp isnt installed so i cant help, but nouman or someone will post a pic if you didnt understand. Theyre the good guys...
# in photoshop just click ok.
Yeh nice 1. Cant belive I didn't spot that one myself. Goes 2 show it's easy if you know how! Makin a game to give as a xmas prezzie. Got lots of time lol. He's into world of warcraft. Saw a vid on u tube called world of war crack. Gonna go wiv that theme. Not great or typical for a rpg but it gives me chance to have a mess round with the program. Anyways, many thanks again.
