Question:
Which do you prefer final fantasy or zeda
Option 1: Zelda
Option 2: Final Fantasy
I had a disagreement with my friend over this, so I was wondering what other people thought. I prefer final fantay.
*votes zelda
Zelda all the way.
The only games I ever find myself playing out of either series are Final Fantasy Tactics, FF6, and for Zelda, A Link to the Past, so since 2>1, I'll vote Final Fantasy.
Both series are overrated though.
Oh my godz, Zelda, of course. ;D
Zelda all the way.
The Final Legend of Zelda's Fantasy for me.

Zelda I'd never heard of really... but not quite as 'underground' as what Final Fantasy used to be, Final Fantasy has definitely got popularity now though (Advent Children, Spirits Within).
Final Fantasy. I like Zelda and all..it just does not give me the same feeling. I'm more into RPG's more than adventures.

I agree,They are overated but I still havnt found a RPG I thought was better than FF VIII.
Final Fantasy
Hey, I just got FFXII ;D
Final Fantasy. I never really liked Link all that much.
None of these games are popular here, but oen day i somehow found Majora's mask and Orcania of time's roms, so i emulated and played them, and as i've not played ff, i spose Zelda
But i'm not VOTINg.
I don't think my vote should count...lol I played like 1 ff game through the first disk, and ocarina of time about 19381203 times, so duh I voted link. :D
We can select 2 options, WOW.
I had to think about it for a while, I was going to vote FF, but thinking back, Zelda's the only game that gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling ^U^.
ZELDA IS YOU GOD! BOW TO IT!
Zelda by far shot.
*is prepared to get flamed*
Final Fantasy > All other Games > Zelda ::)
Sorry but I could nvr get into any zelda game :-\
FF all the way
Does anyone else have that zelda demo disc for the GC ( it contains all the Zelda games released up until WW )?
<3
I say Zelda :D, just 'cos of Ocrania of Time.(What a Fucking game) Ive never completed it though :<. FF X was good though.(Havent Completed that either :<)

Zelda because I've never played FF. >.>
Final Fantasy all the way, until the end!

FFX ruined it for me... Eww.
I like the idea of the new battle system, the older style battles are just getting old, perhaps they should put in LESS MONSTERS. Every two fucking steps in X a damn battle!! >:(
final fantasy...zelda has gone downhill since OoT :-\
Zelda hasn't gone downhill since anything. well, maybe CDi zelda...
I'm gonna have to say Final Fantasy of course! Over here in Australia, FFXII just came out but i haven't got it yet. Someone said that every 2 steps you take in X, you get into a battle: That's why they put in Peaceful Equipment into the game (No Encounters). FFX is probably my second or third favoutite, but VIII was the best by FAR!!!
Gotta say never was a big fan of the final fantasy series but the ones ive played ive actually liked but its Zelda all the way

Thats why they invented the "Escape" action ;D
I like FFX, there weren't that many battles though I hated it when you lost you're way...
Kingdom Hearts has the most enjoyable battle system, it was actually fun!(Not like others where you're eyes were half closed...I looked like I saw a ghost every time I touched the controller!

FINAL FANTASY!!!
sorry and here are some facts btw
sales worldwide (as in money)
final fantasy 3rd in the world with 60 mill
zelda something like 8th with 30 mill
(top 2 are mario with 180 mill and pokemon with 160 mill)
Don't slam Link. He's the best. My favorites list goes like this:
1) Link
2) Link
3) Cloud Strife
4) Sephiroth
Who cares about sales rates? I don't. I play and vote on a game cuz I like it, not based on its popularity. Other people might care but I don't. Link could be on the bottom of the sales chart and I'd still like him. The only Final Fantasy I've actually been able to play enough of is FF7. I liked it but not as much as I like Zelda.
I just wish Nintendo could come out with a Zelda movie like Square Enix did with FF7. I guess the closest I'll get to an LOZ movie will be Twilight Princess.
I've never really liked Zelda, tbh.
I vote FF only because I haven;t played a Zelda since the Oracle games and I didnt finish them (not sure why, I'll have to drag them out again). FF7 was the game that I bought a PS1 for and got me hooked to rpgs. I played rpgs in the past, but not the quality ones. FF7 made me a better gamer because I started resurching games after that.
My vote's for Zelda.
Final Fantasy bores me after a while. I've run out of patience for general RPGs. I prefer strategy or ABS RPGs.
definetly zelda i love it
Zelda seem to bore me for than Final fantasy, though. It always seems to be the same to me. That is why I was bored of Twilight Princess rather quickly: You run around collecting different items from different temples/dungeons while defeating the boss with said item to gain a more significant item. Then you fight the main evil dude at the end with the use of all the collected items. AND..suprise, suprise..guess who is in yet ANOTHER Zelda game?
Ganon.
He now really bores me as much as Bowser, truth be told.
Still..everyone has their preferences.

Not really. They both are a really great series with aspects that seperate them from the rest.
@Lavata: The same can be said for FF. Don't you just go around fighting random battles all the time, getting little items through different place? It's just as repetitive as Zelda, if not more.
Which is the point of an RPG. You have random encounters with enemies and you find small items such as potions and such along the way. Some games also make you gather up special artifacts (ala Zelda) but it can turn out depending how it's pulled off. The way Zelda does it makes it seem..rather new. However, it still bores ME. It's just that I'm more of a guy who is into RPGs than he is into Action adventure games such as Zelda.
You should hate your self! (Not really)

Well that was a mouthful. Good job! ;D
However...
Kefka>>>>>Link>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ganon<<<<<<<<Vaati<<<<<<Majora
Thank you. 8)
Kefka? Who's that?
Vaati is super cool, and so is Ganon. Like the best bad guys ever. And I like the twist in Minish Cap:
That Vaati is a Minish and he was the hat thingy's apprentice
Kefka=Best FF villain. Destoryed the world, rearranging it completely and became the absolute source of magic in the world after aborbing the power of the three goddesses of magic. So, in essence he was a god, really. An insane god who took pleasure in seeing other die.
what game?
VI. It's one of my favorites..though not THE best on my list. That title belongs to IX.
FF of course. What is Zelda ;D?
Truelly, FFVIII is my favourite game, none of the others pleased me the same way.
Zelda is the game that is better and more revolutionary than FF, thats what it is.
Yes..indeed. I'll just leave you be. =)
IX was better for me..mostly because of the storyline and the gameplay. It was also a tribute to the older FFs (it was never supposed to be called Final Fantasy IX. They just called it that for some reason.)

No, that wasn't sarcasm.
Ah, I see. Good to know then.
Not better in my mind and it's not more revouloutionary. Let's just leave it at that for me. Telling me otherwise will be a futile attempt in which I will not submit to. It's like telling me to play FF: XI or any other online game. It will not happen. Everyone has tried and failed. No thanks.
I still like Zelda, though. I was even debating wether or not to get a Gamecube because of it >.<

final fantasy... of course. both series are taking a new direction on what the game is and what the new will look like[mainly zelda].
ex: the next zelda is is suppose to take place in the future[distant]
where did you here about a new zelda??!!??!!
What is wrong with all of you? Both of these series are pretty damn mediocre. How about arguing over games that are actually great and stop wasting time?
See..I find them above medicore. You might not, but I do. The only series that I find above it would be the Tales Of Series.
Tales of Phantasia is sweet! :tpg:
So sweet, I love the battler system, so original.
Ocarina of Time is excellent, Wind Waker is also up there.
I think I like Metroid more than Zelda. But I like Zelda more than Final Fantasy.

I agree. But Radiata Stories trumps everything else.
I never played that =O
It didn't seem all that appealing to me for some reason or another =\
I like the Zelda series and I am working on Twilight princess right now, but I love the Final Fantasy series. I am actually working on XII right now too.
I have to admit I am a Final Fantasy VII child. I bought my playstation and a couple months later rented this cool little game from blockbusters. I had no idea what the hell an RPG was at the time and really didn't care, this game captured my mind and I loved it. I think I rented that game 5 times and beat Jenova on the ship from Juno to Casa Del Sol before actually getting it for my birthday or christmas.
The only game that really captured me like that was about 2 or 3 years later when EQ was introduced to me by my Ex-girlfriend and her friends freshman year.
I have yet to find a game to do that to me after that. It just seems like they want to concentrate on the graphics and coming up with some kind of new revolutionary gaming system . There isn't a fun factor anymore like there was back then.
No, there is a fun factor, it's called never playing RPGs before, then playing them. After you beat one or two, they get really really boring...
The same with me when Pokemon Red came out. My friend had it and I played it a few times, it was like dope. But then I got a gbc and red version.
The only rpgs that I have beaten to date are like only a few.
Every try Seiken Densetsu? That game rocks so much! I got to like the very last guardian beast and stopped playing, But I'm gonna start again.

Or as it's known to most Americans, the Mana series. Yeah, those are some fun games. Which SD are you refering to? SD1? That one was recently remade for the GBA under the title "Sword of Mana", SD2 was known as Legend of Mana, and SD3 hasn't been released State-side, but is being remade for the DS.

Yeah, of the first three, SD3 was my fav. I haven't played it in forever, though.

Your probably right. FFVII and EQ have also goldened in my memories also, like all memories of the past do.
Sieken Densetsu 3 was one of my favorites too. Second game I had seen that was real time combat and I liked it. The first one was Parasite Eve (I still love that game)
I havn't had a chance to try any of the other Sword of Mana games though. The next game I am looking to buy is Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP. I always borrowed FFT (for the Playstation) from my friend and played it and never had a chance to buy it for myself and beat it.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. RPGs aren't just fun because you haven't played them before. There are elements to RPGs which make them fun. Whether it's story, romance, skills, bosses, systems, there is always something which makes them fun that isn't just because you haven't played an RPG before. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, VII, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, Skies of Arcadia, Betrayal at Krondor, Lufia 2, Shining Force 1 and 2, Fire Emblem games - these are all fun, and obviously most of them weren't the first RPGs I played. That being said, there are RPGs I didn't like (for example, FF XII), but it's not because they are new, it's because they're uninteresting.

I don't totally think that, it's just newer rpgs, all it is, is random battles every five seconds, and it extremely boring. Older RPGs like the final fantasy here you can switch classes rocked so much. So did Chrono Trigger, I think the RPGs started to get the same when it was Late PSX and early PS2, PS2 pretty much did RPGs to death. The only one that looks cool that's newer, it the Baiton Kaitos games, I think I butchered the name, but oh well. I loved pretty much every FF for the SNES, I really loved FFIX, but now, ehh...they all are slowly becoming the same. I must say, they get to be disappointing.
FFX-2 is pretty good, I got sorta far it that, but it's my brother's and he doesn't live with me. I liked it.
oh nosies FF is losing :'(
Really, when I first voted Zelda was winning.
It still is :'( Rpg,s Seem funner than Platfors or adventures
Sorry to burst your bubble, but "funner" isn't a word.
LotZ: LA/OoT owns all. FF is good though. But Links Awakenening/Ocarina of Time were just too good. AND FUNNER IS A WORD IN MEH DICTIONARY AND HIS AND MINE.
Yea I'd agree But FF 12 Is really cool And I got Twilight princess And They Made Link LEFT-HANDED!!!!
Funner is not a word.
I I want Twilight Princess so badly!
Twilight Princess is good. It got boring for me, though..I quit before entering the Water Temple (much like my friends brother..)
I sometimes use the word "funner". That or "More fun" or "better".

A miracle I agrre with halo And no I don't im just fast
But seriously I like FF12 better than Twilight princess
I just like Final Fantasy more because it tries change and does not keep everything the same with each new game that is released. There are new characters, a new story, better graphics, sometimes better gameplay, etc. They always try and change something, if not one-or-two new things. The gameplay is HARDLY ever the same and there is always a new story to follow with new characters to eet and such.
Zelda changes..it's just not al that much. Im getting tired of Ganon and the likes of them, actually.
Still....Right Handed Link Forever ;D

No, Bongo Bongo is. Well, he;s the hardest, the sewer thing is very boring.
I want it for my Wii.
I liked playing Tennis with Ganondorf
He is easy in every game but Link to the Past.
e is also easy in that: I just used the rod that makes you invincible and spammed attacks on him. Then everything else was easy dodging...
Of course..I could only do this after dying a few hundred times first.
I never really tried more than once. Because my friend gave me it for SNES, but I had already had it for gba, but I still play it. I never got to him in GBA, I always got stuck in the final temple.
I think you should go ahead and make a Zelda topic as well..
This one seems to be straying a tad bit yet again. Too hard to follow through with what was originally meant.
Ok, I'll make a Zelda topic.
damn looks like my friend won ;9
I asked my friend this question a while back. He could not give me a valid answer. Personally, I'm myself am at a standstill. Both series are immersive, yet unique in their own different ways.
