This is my first game that's worth posting here, but it's really good!


Light's Shadow

Story line:

[spoiler]     You and your best friend Deedo live in the Molen Mountains. Deedo is 2 years younger than you and he is an orphan. Your mom and dad let Deedo eat with your family often. Deedo lives at "Old Man Dabba's House" (which you will never get to see in the game).

     Your 20 year old, older brother, (Dice) is fighting in the army but should be coming back about 2 days after the "Light's Shadow" starts (due to the war ending last week). You have been getting strange dreams and nightmares in your sleep ever sence Dice left to fight in the war.

     Molen Mountains has a volcano on it which erupts and seperates you and Deedo, when Deedo get's lost in the storm. The mountain erupts while you and Deedo are "exploring" in the mountains.

But you'll have to play the game to find out the rest![/spoiler]

Also, Ewan and Erk are mages from Fire Emblem, and Rebecca is a archer for Fire Emblem. :p

Hmmm...Anyways, that desert mountain area seems to empty. You need to post a story soon aswell.

Do I have any volunteers for beta testing? It's like 97% done but I want to send out some betas just to see what people think. If you do all of the side quests. It's like a 5 hour game (all of the side quests are not done yet) but if you go through the story line only, it's probably like a 2-3 hour game.

ps. for a little while in the beginning of the game, your battler is a little crap drawing that I drew on paint. The battler is like this because I don't have the battler that I need (posted in this topic previously). So deal with it, or make me the battler. The chocobo race isn't ready yet because I still need some sprites. And the battle transition is something a little different because I don't have the one that I want yet (posted in this topic previously).

I hope you all like the game! So who wants to be a beta tester?

pm me and tell me: why you want to test, what you think about my game, if you have any recourses that I need or can make some sooner or later, and what suggestions you have for my game.

in the game click file compresss game data, click create encrypted...then you can zip/ but don't need to, just upload the file it made.

I'm not gonna make an open beta test because the game is almost done.

ps. the beta go's through the whole storyline. but it doesn't have some side quests.
pss. after beating the game, try to give me some slack when criticizing my game. because it's my first working game.

I dont have a cbs right now. just the battle system that comes with rmxp. does anyone have nice cbs that I dont need side-view battlers for? I've looked for one and I don't like what I see.

I haven't gotten very far. It's a bit too fast though. It's like cutscene, walk 2 secs, cutscene. "Let's explore". Then it cuts to the end of the exploration without any exploring and the village is on fire. I just don't know what's going on. Mapping could use some work, but I'd think about re-eventing the opening to make it a flow a little more naturally. I can't comment on the story because I haven't gotten far enough yet.

Okay, I am going to make a few suggestions. First, encrypt your game files before uploading. Second, take those spoilers off the main heroes as it's a hassle to look at them. Third, PM a mod and tell them to move this to Projects/Games as it meets the requirements I believe. Finally, give credit: You are using Blizzard's Lvl Up Notifier, and you are using the CMS I wrote for you, but you don't mention Blizzard at all and you credit Darklord for the CMS. You also have a Floating Location Window - I don't know who made it but chances are it wwasn't you, so give credit.

I'll play the game later.

just so everyone who plays my game knows: when you use the air ship in this beta version, you just warp to you destination. in the final version: the world map will be alot better, and after you select your destination in the world map you will warp to the airship which you will have to wait on for 1 min.

the only thing i need for those 2 edits is a good world map tile set.

what does encrypting it do?

ok, i think the game is as done as it will ever be. the only thing not working right now is the Chokobo Race and i dont think that will ever be working because i cant get the chocobo rider sprites that i need. ill most likely post the "beta" version up soon

- the whole eventing after we enter the house is weird
-I can lay ontop of the dad in bed
-Interior mapping is bad. where the heck it the outside of the walls? and you marked the door with a carpet + no rooms
-Game freezes when I exit door. I pressed DOWN right when I left the door and game froze

if you didn't want feedback on what to fix then why did you ask?

yes TONS of games do indoors like that...i tell each and EVERY last game that way sucks. looks ugly and unorganized.

here is my quick one min house it's done the right way.

anyway, i think i found the problem with the glitches. i cant script rgss so i cant read rgss either. i think this script is the problem but im not sure. can you tell me what it does?
