I've been hearing rumors of a FF remake for the PS2. Which one it is...I don't know. Does anyone else have any info?
know that:
-FF1 and 2 and being remade for the PSP
-FF tactics advance 2 is coming out for the DS
-FF tactics remake is coming out for the PSP.
And people have been saying that Square is going to remake a FF because of "popular Demand" for the PS2.
What do you think and/or hope it is?
I'm hoping for either 9, 8 or...one of the older ones (4,5..)
I hope its 9. 9 would be FANTASTIC on the PS2

Gamefaqs.com. I read it on the PSP FF1 forum in a topic. They said because of "popular demand" a FF was being remade. I don't really know, though. It could be false, could be true.

I've heard about the Tactics remake, but I heard it wasn't FFT Advance 2, but a sequel to the original, and that they were both on DS. In fact, I've read that several places, which would be awesome, because FFTA sucked, and FFT deserves a sequel. FF1 and 2 being remade again wouldn't surprise me, and if they're remaking one for PS2, then I'm pretty sure it'll be FF7. :(
I couldn't care less, really. i would just like to see some other FF get more attention. it dosn't bother me if FF7 get's remade: I'll still get it. I have emjoyed all of the Final Fantasy games and have not disliked either one.
Yeah. FF deserves more attention, and I've got all the FF's except 3 and 12, so I agree with you completly.
ff7 is the one that they made a tech demo on for the ps3. They might put it on the ps2 but that would be awesome if they put ff7 on the ps2. FF6,4,5 have been released on the game boy advance. I do not know about the ps2 hod this much but they should put FF 1-9 in a 2-4 disk set or bigger but It would be awesome to have a case with all those games.
What they need to do is pt Ff9 and ff8 on the ps2.
Although FF7 is the only one I own, I still like all the other 3D ones better(Except 10-2). I never really played the older ones except Final Fantasy 6 which was so fun.

really the only ane they could make a increible remake is FF7 because that game was at first when I saw it was the shittest shit that was shit out and burned. I looked like the game could look good on N64 but not the ps or psone. but after about ten hour of playing the game I got use to the shitiness of the graphics. The tech demo looked like it could look awesome.

FF6. I was the best FF IMO.
They shut down rumors about a FFVII on Ps3 at this point. It was just a really quick T.D. for PS3 at E3 a few years ago.
I havent heard these rumors, but if they were on a forum, regardless of what it is (im not on gamefaqs...it IS a forum, right?), then they probably arent amazingly reliable.
The Final Fantasy Tactics remake is apparently already in the works, and the sequel (I still have yet to find anywhere that says it's Tactics Advance than Tactics, it's supposed to be a direct sequel to Ramza's storyline) will be put in motion once that's done. ANOTHER remake of FF I and II isn't surprising. At this rate, they'll have a remake of those games every year.
I'm honestly hoping it isn't a remake of FF7. I'm tired of everything FF7 and all the 'ZOMG FF7 IS SO FREAKIN COOL AND CLOUD IS AWESOME AND HIS HAIR IS LIKE OMG AND HIS SWORD IS SO BIG!!!11!!1!!!!!111!!' Then again, if that was the one that was remade, I'd still play it probably.
I think that's the one that's most likely to be remade. If not, it'll probably be 6. 8,9,5,and 4 are all great too, but they don't merit as much remake or have as big of a following as the other two. Realistically, 6 and 7 are the two that would make them the most money, and it will probably be one of those if it does even happen.

I'd love if they remade V. VII for the money obviously :roll:. I just hope it isn't VIII - considering that game sucked worse than Simpson's: Road Rage (however the war in good graphics would be very nice).

*VII and VIII. VI wasn't as popular which explains why VII is so popular considering for a damn lot of people it was the first RPG for them to play. Due to VII's popularity VIII was bound to be popular and was - first RPG I played.
I don't want to turn this into a debate over something as nerdy (or neverending) as which FF game is the best, but I assure you that 6 and 7 are the two most popular. There are a large percentage of FF fans that hated 8.
Most probably it will be VII, because, of course, of the money. =/ Exactly because so many *cough* idiots *cough* like FFVII and are not intelligent enough to see their money being taken out of their pockets will buy it. Sadly enough there are many and I mean MANY people like those. =/
I actually doubt that they are going to remake VI. :( I hope it, but I doubt it. :(

I agree with you, except I liked 8 more then 6. So I don't actually agree with you, but you know what I mean.
I would rather 9 remade. That or 8. If they did it to 6 then they might screw up on some of the character voices (Kefka) with the voice acting. I'd hate to see my all-time-favorite villain die like that.
Lance Bass (voice actor for Sephiroth for KH1) did a good job as Sephiroth for the first KH. In KH2, however, I have to say that Sephiroth's voice is terrible. Purely putrid. it DOES NOT fit. I never pictured him having that kind of tone.

Like I said before: weather this is true or not is unknown. BUT, it dosn't matter if it is or not because IF it is then I'm most definitly buying whatever it is that get's remade.
I can tell you now it's not six. I heard them say in many cases that because of the GBA remake they wouldn't be making yet another project, that and the fact that FF6 fans have already said the game is perfect and is in no need for a graphical remake.
Don't get me wrong, that's the one I want remade but they would have to be idiots to ignore the VII fanboys. If it is the title that will make the most money, and it is, then that's the one they'll make.

Hence why I bold-ed the 'we'. Besides I hardly play consoles these days. Last time my PS2 was touched was last week with KHII, before that it was six months ago... So the only thing to get me wanting to buy the PS3 when it finally comes out... is a FFV remake, GT5, something like Boulder Dash :tpg:, and a bunch of other randoms that look interesting.
