Title: screenshots
Post by: Erk64 on February 10, 2007, 02:01:45 AM
I have noticed that on these forums people have been posting screenshots of their RPG makers when they are explaining things to others. How do you take one of these screenshots, and can I do it while testing my game?

On you keyboard push-

Print scrn
__________
Sysrq

it's over insert and next to F12.

Then you open a new picture program like paint, or the such and do right click paste.

Press 'Print Screen'.

Alt + Print Screen. If you want the picture to show the active window only.

And upload it to ImageShack.com

I'm using a laptop, and the keyboard is set up a little differently. There is one button that says [insert/prt sc] and another that says [delete/sys rq] to the right of F12. Any idea what I should do?

Okay, I figured out how to take the screenshot. Thank's for you help everyone! But I was wondering...do you need to have your image hosted on the web before you are able to post in on the forums (with a web site like photobucket.com or something)? If so, it's not a problem. I was just curious.

How do you take one on a laptop? My notebook won't take them for some reason.
It doesn't matter though.

Near the bottom left-hand corner there is a key that looks like this: [fn]
Hold down that button and press the [insert/prt sc] key, which is near the backspace. If you only want a screenshot of the top window, hold down the alt key too. At least, that is how it works on mine. Different laptops may be set up in different ways. At any rate, mine is a HP notebook, so I am assuming all if not most HP notebooks will be the same. Once you take the screenshot, paste in in Paint.
